Grrrr - mislabeled non-anamorphic DVDs
Does anyone know when Touchstone actually began making their DVDs anamorphic? I just picked up a used copy of "The Color of Money", which is labeled "Enhanced for 16x9 TVs" but is not. However, the more recent (2003) "25th Hour" which I also got tonight IS anamorphic.
Also, what other studios which consistently mislabel their DVDs? I know some early WB releases (2010) were mislabeled, as is my copy of "A Bronx Tale" from HBO home video. |

I was *this* to buying The Color of Money until I heard that it was non-anamorphic. Bummed me out.

Well, WB's "Tango & Cash" is listed on DVDEmpire as anamorphic (which is usually a good source), but when I got it, it isn't labeled as anamorphic, and sure enough, it isn't. I know, not quite the same thing, but the fact that DVDEmpire has it listed as anamorphic was at the very least confusing.

I traded away my MGM 2010 DVD with the cool cover and the 8 page booklet to get the WB DVD because I thought it was anamorphic. :grunt:
