1938 Christmas Carol - Why isn't it out on DVD yet?

Anybody know why MGM or Warner hasn't released the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol on DVD yet?

I grew up watching this every Christmas on WGN and even own the rather old laserdisc of it, but I want it on DVD asap.

I just hope that they aren't waiting until 2008 to release it on DVD for it's 70th Anniversary.

I'm waiting for it too. Doesn't look good for this year, but hopefully it will be out for next Christmas.

I mentioned the same thing in the other Christmas Carol thread. I grew up watching this one, the 1951 and 1984 versions religiously and even though it's quite trite and corny, I'd still love to have it in the collection. Until then, I'll have to stick by the OOP VHS.
