Iron Giant SE: Skipping Problems?

I recently purchased the Iron Giant: Special Edition which was released on November 16th.

I have a Toshiba DVD player and while watching this movie I have noticed skipping problems, where the movie will pause for two seconds, skip and then skip back two seconds and continue playing.

Anyone else have this problem? What can I do about it other than selling my DVD player, and/or returning the movie.

I just ordered the movie from DDD but have not received it yet, once I do I can let you know. I am sure others will post though before then.

Chemical, I experienced the exact same problem on my Toshiba SD-4900. I noticed that the skip often corresponded with the branching documentaries when the feature was not engaged.

Watched mine last night on my JVC unit. No skipping or problems of any kind.

It sounds so far to be a Toshiba DVD player problem.

Worked fine on my Fisher.

Nope, it played flawlessly on my Toshiba 4800... but, with the exception of a defective disc, it has played everything I've thrown at it.

Played flawlessly on the Panasonic and Denon DVD players.

I realized what the problem is, it's our model of Toshiba. I also have the SD-4900. I am going to contact Toshiba and see if there has been a firmware upgrade that I may have missed or if there is something that can be done about it.

I had the same problem with my SD-4900. Any news on this?

This is what I'm doing about my Toshiba dvd player problems.
I hope no one gets mad at me for posting this.
I've had problems with two Toshiba dvd players in the past and bought a Sony as a replacement.
No problems what so ever with the Sony.

This is the first time I have ever had a problem with my Toshiba 4900. It plays everything I have ever thrown at it (other Regions, PAL, VCD, etc) flawlessly. It is having a problem with the branching on this particular disk. The disc does a kind of stutter at the locations of the branching.

I have a Toshiba SD2200 (5 year old player) and it plays a-okay on that. Have watched it a few times on that player (all the features, with commentary, etc.).

I have some kind of Toshiba, around a year old and it played fine, all features, etc.
