That is an amazing list, even more so because I own so many of them! I was glad to get rid of my barebones versions and get these new ones. I especially like the versions of older movies with the poster art on the cover (like My Fair Lady or Around The World In 80 Days).

Yes and No. It's one physical disc having the contents from 2 DVD-9 discs being stuck back to back.

Added The Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby. Figured it was worth noting. :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a chock full "Dangerous Liaisons" 2 disc.

So, what's with WB screwing us on the third Harry Potter, giving us a keepcase versus the previous digipacks? It seems that they are indeed NOT dropping the digipacks as somebody had assumed in one of the Harry Potter threads.

I'd hope WB will rereleases the first 2 Harry Potter's in keepcases.

Anyone else a little :hscratch: over the packaging for the newest releases? Maybe it's just me, but I find it a little odd that WB are using slipcases now (Heat, The Philadelphia Story) when they don't even print inserts. If the lack of inserts were a money saving thing, what's with the slipcases? Yeah, it's anal, but a little consistency would be nice.

I just recieved my copies of The Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby and was disappointed they were keepcases, probably the first time ever. It would be nice if there was consistency in their casing. I think Harry Potter has a similiar issue.

I think their casing is consistent... now. Pretty much everything 1-disc/2-disc has been put into a keepcase for the past few months. When they abandoned the snapper, I think they also bailed on the digipak. It took them a while to come up with a plan, but I think they have one now. :)

That's fine by me, but I'd love for them to also revisit the older titles (Harry Potter, etc.) and reissue in keepcase form as well.

And, while it isn't a dealbreaker for me... and I'm not losing any sleep over it, I miss inserts too. Even though I rarely reference a chapter listing, a case just seems incomplete without it.

I think it would be interesting to include all the excellent WB box sets in this list. While they are a little different than the 2-disc sets, they appeal to the same people, and with the large number of them released recently, they are becoming very difficult to keep track of.

I have several of these, well, the classics films, anyway-- and many more are quite high on my "must buy" list. They are WOnDERFUL editions-- the restorations are very good, the extra features are great (I like the film school commentaries by film historians or at least by critics), definately worth buying.

But what I *would* very much, PLEASE Warner Bros PLEASE-- is for some classic film noir and musicals made by RKO (and thus in the Turner/Warner's library) to PLEASE be released. I'm talking about the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals (Esp. "Top Hat", "Swing Time", and "Shall We Dance?". and also some of the wonderful RKO/ early Warners Film Noir films.

I wish Warner Bros had a website devoted to the excellent classic movie DVD Special Edition Box Sets it produces so well. Their current website seems to concentrate, unsurprisingly, on the DVD's of current blockbusters.

I'd love to hear more about the Busby Berkeley boxset, Joan Crawford/Bette Davis titles etc.
