New discs at Retailers fixed?
 

I've waited to buy the trilogy on DVD until I saw that Fox started shipping out replacement discs to folks, and was wondering if anyone knew if the new versions of the discs had made it out to retailers as of yet? Thanks for any info folks

Judging from other 'corrected' discs (BTTF, MP: Meaning of Life), I wouldn't hold my breath. It's been two years since BTTF was fixed and I'm still not aware of any corrected sets being found at retail.

Just buy the set in stores, see if ANH gives you trouble, and -- if it does -- call up Fox for a replacement.

I suspect this set will go OOP before you start seeing 'corrected' sets in any quantity at retail. (In addition to the issue with how to tell the difference between a old set and a new one -- I don't think they'll be changing UPCs or anything...)

I had the same dilemma, but I caved in and bought the damned set last Friday. Of the 3 movies, only ROTJ plays without any breakups. I called Fox and am getting the replacement disc for ANH, but I don't know what the hell I am going to do with ESB. :(

It pixellates in multiple places but on replaying the same scene where it pixellated before, it does not do it again, but pixellates at a different place. Well into the layer 1, it looped back 2 chapters and started playing again. These problems occur at random places.

Do you still have the receipt you bought at the store? I'm sure all the stores will let you take back the DVD for an exchange. Maybe you can even ask if you can play the movie at the store and show them the problem.

This is from Amazon. I still have the receipt, but I dont know if they do exchanges for a single disc.

Wait... is there a problem with the SWs sets? I got it but haven't had a chance to watch it.

What's wrong with them? Would do I need to look for to make sure they are the right version?

Have you tried it on a pc? Maybe you could try and exchange the whole set.

I haven't tried it on the PC yet. Exchanging the set is a pain because of the RMA and stuff and even then there is no guarantee that the set will work fine. I wonder if others have problems with ESB like me. I have seen a couple of complaints, but nearly everyone complains about ANH.
