Home Alone & Home Alone 2 - Special Editions?

I have been holding off buying the barebone sets of these movies because I thought their will be a better version out like a special edition of each film but I am getting impatient. If they don't release any by this Christmas. I will go ahead and get the barebone sets but is there any word on some special editions being planned?

Yikes, these movies are brought up quite a bit around here. I had no idea there was such a large fanbase.

It's because they are really good and because the current releases for them are terrible quality.

Fox has talked about doing some SE's... nothing by this Christmas unfortunatley.

I think they're great movies too and I'd love to have SE's as well. Could be awhile though. Especially to clean up Macaulay Culk... err I mean the transfer.

I bought these when I first got a dvd player. I couldn't imagine holding out on 'em.

I'm hoping we get a 15th anniversary release next year with all the bells and whistles. A commentary track with Culkin, Catherine O'Hara, or Joe Pesci would be fun.

I'd like to see a special edition of these too. They hold a lot of fun childhood memories for me. Its a tradition in my family to watch 'em both on Christmas Eve.
