Knife in the Water

I know this is probably the wrong forum to put this in, so be nice and just direct it to the right one. I have a minor problem with my Criterion 'Knife in the Water' dvd, and I wondered if anyone else did. When viewing either of the disks, I noticed if I stopped the movie, it went back to the beginning when I restarted it, so when I wanted a break, I had to put the dvd on pause instead of stop. No, it happened several times, so I know I wasn't accidentally clicking stop twice as I sometimes have done, and it doesn't happen with any other dvd, only this one.

Frankly, I'm disappointed Criterion would issue a defective disk. It's too bad because it's one of Polanski's best films.

It's not a defective disc - it's the way Polanski wanted it presented on DVD, as discussed in this previous thread:

That's fine, but my question had nothing to do with fast forwarding or rewinding, but I assume it's related.

Oh no ..... someone who tries to rewind his DVDs.
