Why doesn't "Superman II" have a commentary track?

"Superman I" got it!
And do you think there will ever be a SE with it??

Well it's a tricky situation. About 70% (or more) of it was shot by Donner, yet Richard Lester is the one credited on it. So who would you have do it? I doubt you'd be able to get both of those in a room and sit them down to talk about the movie. It'd be very inefficient also to edit their audio to only those shots that they each directed--if the other option was to have them do the commentary separately. If you go to the boards over at supermancinema.net, I think they're working on getting a Donner-cut Superman II DVD over there.

I hope so. I love the part where the kid on the horse gets blown up.

I'd want this if for no other reason than the better reveal that Clark Kent is SUperman and all the Brando footage that was cut by Lester being reintegrated into the film.
