Well...I'm looking forward to the release, but certainly not the price if that's the neighborhood it will be in.

Geez, it's either feast or famine. I don't want a good chunk of those episodes - just the Lorenzo Music era. Oh well.

It'd be awesome if it came in a full-size Trap, similar to the various heads and other props that some releases had.

Funny, I came across an old childhood VHS of the show recently and thought "wow I better hold onto this, no chance it'll be on DVD" Great news!

Timelife is now taking preorders, with a special 10% discount if you order before Sept 1st. Also, at tvshowsondvd.com, they are asking you to vote on your preference for the boxart. Either a)Firehouse or b)Artwork of the ghostbusters themselves. Both would be lenticular.

To anybody who preorders, do they charge right away or when it ships? I'm definately ordering mine asap, but I don't have the funds currently. It's supposed to ship Nov 25, but may get delayed due to how massive this set is.

Here's a link to all the details regarding the set:
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Rea...-Details/10112

And here's a link to the artwork voting:
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/rgb/index.cfm

Voting is closed the end of the day on Friday. Please keep in mind these are concepts, and not the finished artwork for the set.

I'm tossed up on the covers. The firehouse is neat, but I love the promotional art on it was well (childhood memories and all ). One of life's tough decisions!

That sucks that you can only get it through Time Life. Without competitor pricing, they can pretty much charge what ever they want...

Anyone have a direct link to the time life site? I can't click on the link on tvshowsondvd.com at work (linksynergy.com is classified as a spyware site).

I went to timelife.com and could not find it anywhere.

Here's the URL that shows up after you click on the tvod link:

https://www.timelife.com/webapp/wcs/...:MicroSiteView

----

Current offers:

Cash Back:

Fatwallet.com - 8%
Cashbaq.com - 6%

15% off any order of $120 or more
Expires : August 18, 2008
Time Life Coupon Code : AFSUN

Free shipping on any order of $50 or more
Time Life Coupon Code : LKFS86

---

I've never ordered from timelife.com before, but it appears that this set isn't available through their normal search on timelife.com. I don't see a section to use a coupon on the ghostbusters link. I think I'll wait until real ghostbusters show up by going through timelife.com directly so I can use fatwallet (8% fatcash), and hopefully a percent off coupon.

Because of the 10% off pre-order price, the coupons aren't currently usable.

Can't wait to get this set in my hands.

Compared to the regular price for this, it's pretty reasonable.

Well, it's 10% off before September so right now it's $161.99. Does anyone know if TimeLife charges now or when they send it out. 25 DVDs are a lot of season sets. Dang, there goes my dvd budget.

They charge now.

Some folks over at GB Fans pre-ordered already and mentioned issues with the price showing up at first.. this has apparently been remedied.

It's what, 25 DVDs? 140-something half-hour shows?

I've never paid more than $155 for a complete series and I own:

The Twilight Zone $155
The Andy Griffith Show ~$110
I Love Lucy ~$117
The Dick Van Dyke Show $135

I even got the Planet of the Apes (Head Packaging) for $106.

I don't believe that's correct. I can't imagine they don't wait until the item ships to charge. I had pre-ordered almost as soon as the listing went live and I haven't been charged yet.
