Which Total Recall?
Tonight at Target I saw a "special edition" of Total Recall for $5.50. I haven't opened it yet, but it looks like a keepcase in a cardboard slipcover. The price was right, so I got it.
But now I don't know what I got. I saw what looked like one review for two different versions, and three DVDs listed in the price search. Is this the same release as the version that came out in the round tin? Is this the newest release? |
The one you got is the same release as the "Mars" tin version. Artisan released this one with two different packaging styles, much like the Special Edition for Basic Instinct (regular keepcase or clear case with "icepick" pen).

I love and prefer my monkey-ass tin. man...people hated that thing. mine is still in perfect shape as is it's cheapie cardboard mount. :D:thumbsup:
|
And the even earlier edition came in a snapper case.
|
I can't remember.
|
All the ones in stores now are the same discs...just different covers...just don't get that Baboon's ass tin...ugh!
|
Proud owner of a monkey-ass here!

I'm another proud owner of the monkey-ass tin and it's in perfect condition!

I still have the tin and carboard holder as well... i made a custom cover for it so the tin and box are just sitting in a cabinet out of the way. was tired of it falling out so much.

See you at the pahty Richter!

I bought the tin version a while back. On a whim, I emailed Artisan and told them that, while I loved the tin and it looked great on display next to my T2 UE tin, etc., it really did not store well with all my other movies - actually, I think I (jokingly) told them it kept "rolling away". Anyway, within a week, I received a keep case in the mail, complete with Total Recall SE cover and insert! Hats off to Artisan!
|
There is a rumor that a third edition of Total Recall is coming. I remember an Artisan rep talked about it in an article and recently supposed specs on a German version were released.
|
When I finally decided to buy Total Recall, I made sure that I bought the regular keepcase version. Although the tin may look cool (for about three seconds) I knew that having that custom-shaped case would be a pain, so I just got the regular case version.

Cool. Good info. Thanks for the help guys.
Any idea why it's so gosh-darn cheap? Not that I'm complaining. |
Artisan movies tend to go very cheap eventually.

I have no issues with my tin. Sits on the cardboard on the shelf with the rest of my discs just fine.
|
i own that tin, but it does not mean i have to like it...
|
Do they even sell the tin version any more?
