star wars 10-disc set?????????

hi...umm i still havent purchased the star wars trilogy set ( i know i suck!) but do u guys think that we will get a 10-disc set in 2005 fall for the complete saga?

FinkPish 10-18-04 08:00 PM

I don't think we are going to get anything until it is re-released in HD, probably for the 30th anniversary in 2007. But anything is possible. You aren't going to get anything better than what is out now for at least 2 years would be my guess. And if it is a full saga set, it will probably just be a repackaging.

bboisvert 10-18-04 08:33 PM

No. I think they'll probably do a larger set of all 6 films in 2007 (for the 30th anniversary). But the best you're likely to see in 2005 is the 3 prequels packaged together (probably with the same editions of Episodes I+II that were previously released).

(By the way, there is a Star Wars forum here. ;) )

Jackskeleton 10-18-04 08:47 PM

Wait.. was this a question. I know I usually bitch about no question marks.. but more then one is often overkill.

I would expect a huge collection of the six movies around 2007. You will get your solo Episode III disc and then half ayear to a year later you will get the ultimate collection. bboisvert got the right idea here.

...with a CGI Yoda replacing the puppet in TPM.

I'm thinking that you'll see a solo release of Episode 3 as well as a boxed set of eps. 1-3.

Then somewhere along the line you'll probably see an ultra super mega extra special edition boxed set with all 6 movies.

namlook 10-19-04 12:08 AM

I expect several re-packages and re-releases. That's what studios do to make money and Star Wars is the motherlode.

Why does everyone keep saying this? Was it ever officially stated? Was it ever rumored by an inside source? Why would TPM's puppet be replaced and not the PT?

Dabaomb 10-19-04 01:45 AM

the thread title definitely needs a few more ? marks ;)

El-Kabong 10-19-04 02:15 AM

I would say, with one hundred percent certanty, that we will get a 10+ disc uber-set (more like 12, I'd wager - 2 per movie) that will cover all 6 films plus a ton of extras. If I was a betting man, I'd say 2006, minimum, perhaps '07 for the 30th anneversery.

Compare TPM yoda to AotC yoda. I'm not sure it was from an inside source, but yoda really needs an upgrade.

Exactly, and I never thought I'd say that the SW films needed more CG. The puppet in Ep1 was awful, too unlike the later Yodas.

Wait....was your first sentence a question without a question mark?

Wait...did you use the word "then" instead of "than"?

Just having some fun. :D

Fartface 10-19-04 08:32 AM

I think we'll see a new verion of a 'Special Edition' of the cycle at least once a year.

And the money keeps rolling in!

marty888 10-19-04 08:40 AM

No sale, unless it includes an inflatable Jabba and a Princess Leia hologram.

Class316 10-19-04 10:18 AM

2007 is the 30th anniversary. In the meantime I'll settle for my ep 4-6 boxset and by ep 1-2 burnt discs.

Should I ask?

Ah, what the hell... I'll ask: Why do you have 'burnt discs' for Episodes I+II?

Are you sure you've got that the right way round?

darqleo 10-19-04 11:08 AM

Wasn't there a SW DVD forum around here?

;)

Fok 10-19-04 02:58 PM

I'd say pick them up now. Lucas may make more changes and the extra's will probably be different.
