Criterion in January?

From Criterion's website...

New Lucas and Coppola Interviews to Appear on Kagemusha

Criterion's soon-to-be-announced DVD edition of Akira Kurosawa's epic Kagemusha will feature exclusive new video interviews with filmmakers George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola. Lucas and Coppola discuss how they contributed to the production of Kagemusha and the experience of working with the legendary Japanese director, a longtime inspiration to both men.

This happens to be one of the Kurosawa films I have not seen, mainly because (for some reason) none of my local stores seem to carry it. It got four-star reviews from Ebert and Maltin (the two critics I probably trust the most,) so this will probably be a buy for me.

Here's hoping for a great transfer and lots of extras (which is almost a given coming from Criterion.)

This is one of my favorite Kurosawa films. I'm glad I resisted buying the seriously edited version that's been out there.

Nice.. I'll get Casque d'or for sure and maybe Touchez pas au grisbi as well. I see that Casque d'or is a 39.95 price point 1 disc title, I look forward to seeing the extras on that one.

I'm broke, goddammit!!

Criterion, I loathe you and your healthy dose of five quality January releases just in time to NOT get them for Xmas. Why can't you just release more Fat Girls and go easy on my bank account??

Any of you guys experienced in writing reviews, and/or interested in reviewing Criterion titles for an upcoming project?

Non-paying to begin with, but there will be monetary compensation down the track.
