2 disc Shawshank Redemption problem
 

Hi all

I am new to these boards and have a very strange DVD problem. I cannot seem to get a working copy of the Shawshank Redemption 2 disc Special Edition. I have exchanged it 3 times at Best Buy and bought a different copy at another store. All of the copies I have tried freeze up in several places and pixellate as well on all my players. I have 2 players and I have this problem on both of them, a Sony DVP-S360 and a Samsung DVD P-231. What could this be? and what can I do? This is one of my favorite movies, so I am frustrated Help! :(

i would think firmware problem if you went through all those copies, are there any other players you can test it on?

Do you have a DVD lens cleaner you can run through the players? I'd try that.

Also, do you have a DVD-ROM on your computer you can test the disc out with?

I don't blame you with your frustration, it's one of my favorites, too.

I find that problem DVDs usually play fine on the PC. Too bad that's not the case for some players :(
