Shawshank LE OOP/Recalled?
 

The Canada pull notwithstanding, maybe the LE has been discontinued/recalled because Amazon is not just out of stock but as a special order item.

I had bought a copy and received it today but since the first disc came loose from the spindle I placed an order for a replacement and instead I got an email with a $10 gift code and an apology that the title couldn't be re-ordered at this time...

I can swap this disc out somewhere else if need be with the regular version but this seems Very fishy...

Might want to grab this set while you can- could be a rare collectible! (odds of this are like really low but until we know whats going on over there...)

I think Warner mis-judged how popular the LE would be and so they're rushing to fufill the orders.

That could be a reasonable possibility but when Scarface ran out Amazon didnt say "unavailable from supplier" virtually overnight, they changed availability to 4-6 weeks or something like that. I mean, they're basically saying if at all it will take b/w 1 to 2 months or more to get any more in by saying "special order" and Scarface didnt even dry up that quickly...

Amazon still has a temp charge on my debit card from Thursday of last week, until they say otherwise I'm going to just stay optimistic :)

It's cancelled in Canada, because Warner doesn't hold the rights on books.

I think the LE is a ripoff when I can get the regular 2 disc for $15.99. Who wants to spend $35.99 to get a soundtrack and a book? It should have been $24.99.

Maybe the price will drop just like schindlers list did.

Mine was only 27.63 from Amazon with stl and free shipping.

It was possible to get for under $24 if you were able to use the $20 Amazon coupon posted in the bargain forum a week ago.

Yeah. Saw it at Target too. It didn't make sense to pay $19 more for a book and a OST CD. I am hoping for a price drop later.

Ditto. This is my favorite movie ever, but I could care less about buying into this gimmik, for a book and a C.D. Come up with something more creative which adds value to the movie itself, then will talk LE.

Has everyone gotten theirs? I preordered on amazon and it shows as estimated arrival of Oct 12-16 which has passed...and they havnt shipped it yet...they will be getting mroe right?

Saw a crapload of the LE at BestBuy. I think it's $34.99.

I got mine last Friday, the delivery estimate was November something until it finally shipped.

My order just got cancelled today from amazon. Had it pre-ordered for a while too..guess I'll have to check out bestbuy and use my mcd bucks.

my pre-order got canned also. worse thing was passing up the b&m first week sale prices because i had it pre-ordered, only to have it severely delayed until finally cancelled. i'm pissed as hell and won't be doing pre-orders on LE items with them again.

Also had my Amazon order cancelled. I'll probably go with the 2 disc edition when CH has it for an enrollment.

Damn, they are cancelling them? I got mine, and it was all box was all dinged up. Thought about sending it back and ordering another. Glad I didn't.

For those that missed out, IMO having bought the LE, it isn't worth it. Pick up the dvd on sale, and find the sdtk at a used CD shop cheap, or half.com. The book is quite lame. The first half(gave up on it) of it is basically word for word from one of the documentaries on the DVD. The box it came in is cheap and flimsy as well.

well i know the soundtrack & the book are lame...but not when i see them on my shelf lol...call me shallow!
