Will We Ever See This 1997 Monkees TV Movie?

In 1997 Michael Nesmith wrote, directed, produced and starred in a TV movie entitled "Hey, Hey, It's the Monkees" along with Mickey Dolenz, Davy Jones & Peter Tork (the last film project made by all four of them). I never got a chance to see it, but I would really like to. What are the chances this will come out.

Every other Monkees project has been released on DVD:

The Monkees Seasons 1 & 2
Head (The Monkees Theatrical Film)
33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee (TV Special included on Season 2 Box Set)
The Monkees: Live Summer Tour

So we totally need this!

That show was pretty good.
It managed to capture the humor of the 60's episodes.
It's worth buying if they ever put it out.

I taped it, it wasn't bad although i thought they didn't use the best songs from their new cd at the time: Justus.
The songs Never Enough, It's Not Too Late and Admiral Mike should have been included.
I understand Mike owns the right to this, not Rhino so i guess it's up to him if this gets released or not.

Really? I didn't know that.

It's odd because he was a big video guy back in the early 80s when they were coming about. "Elephant Parts" was the first film made directly for video. And he did a few commentaries on the TV episodes. You'd think he would release it.

I've been a Monkees fan for 30 years and i would love to get HEAD on Dvd. I'm not sure what the current one by Rhino is like, but it would be great to see this in it's original aspect ratio.
Also the original running time is 110 minutes, the current disc is only 86 minutes..i would love to see the original cut, plus a commentary track with at least one of the guys.

The Head DVD is in full screen. It has no commentary tracks and has 8 Trailers/TV Spots. That's about it.

Bumping to mention it's been re-released by Criterion.

In a box set, but a box set of great movies.

You bumped a 6 1/2 year old thread to state something that's been out for a few months now? I really thought this was back up because the TV movie was being released or something.
