Seinfeld past season 3?

Hi - has there been any word on when seasons 4 and beyond would be released? Will it be another year? or will they do it every few months like they did with Friends?

Dubya 10-01-04 12:50 PM

No definitive word as far as I know, but an article in USA Today about the sets made it sound like the rest would be released over a period of a couple of years.

Cornholio 10-01-04 01:02 PM

yeah it took them a while to get the first 2 sets together just be patient.

clckworang 10-01-04 04:55 PM

Patience is a virtue. They haven't even released the first set yet.

MasterCXtreme 10-03-04 09:45 AM

My guess is... Mid-2005.

Cornholio 10-03-04 11:10 AM

mid 05 isnt bad when you think about it we will have 3 season and seinfeld is syndicated liked 50 times a day where im from.

FiveO 10-03-04 12:40 PM

I could handle a 2 season per year release schedule.

RevKarl 10-03-04 05:24 PM

Then again, this is Columbia/TriStar we're talking about. They may decide to switch to "Best of" sets at any time (as they seem to have with The Larry Sanders Show and Mad About You!)

wolverine1028 10-03-04 10:40 PM

My guess is they will follow a six-month release schedule for each season.

I read that the other day about Mad About You. That sucks. It isn't like they spent a ton of money remastering them. They just threw as many eps. on a disc possible.

Err, how about this site?

Seinfeld, THE ENTIRE DVD SERIES?

Are these DVDs bootlegs?

Of course they would be. We only have till 3 officially, so why would they be able to invent the others?

JuryDuty 11-03-04 01:51 PM

"Region free" is always a hint for major releases like this.

JEStinson3 11-03-04 02:10 PM

I remember hearing that they would do two sets a year at Christmas time (like this year).

I remember reading it, but it might have just been speculation. I don't believe that anything offical has been said.

If these first two sell as well as they are supposed to, then we'll probably have season 4 out in April or May.

Puzznic 11-03-04 03:58 PM

I hope they release everything but i would be content if they just release just the Larry David seasons.

Larry Sanders and Mad About You weren't exactly high priority shows for DVD. And obviously they didn't sell that well if they switched to 'best of'. Now let's think realistically on this one... Seinfeld is the number one most requested TV show for DVD probably ever. Seinfeld is a gold mine in production for DVD. There's no way they wouldn't finish off this series.

BigDan 11-07-04 01:26 AM

Seinfeld is requested now. If it takes several years to get through the seasons, the demand may drop off considerably (plus, there is a big difference between asking for something and actually buying it. Who knows what the sales numbers will be. I would expect them to be high, but I've also been surprised by the number of people I've talked to who say they aren't interested, mostly because they feel the show is on all the time).

Not to mention that the expectations that Columbia/Tri-Star has will determine whether they think the sets are selling well. For all we know, C/TS has set their sales expectations unrealitically high since it was a very popular show.
