VH1's I Love The 70s, 80s, 90s on disc

I would love to see the VH1 "I Love The Decade" series come out on disc. Do you think it'll happen?

I would much rather see Question marks happen in threads asking questions.

These will likely never be on DVD. The rights to use all the clips and songs would take forever to obtain.

Watch a bunch of no-name smart-asses comment on mostly stupid things from various decades? Nah...I'll pass.

Everything has a market potential, I suppose, but if VH1 releases any of their series on DVD, I would rather see When______Ruled the World on DVD.

This is unnecessary, unproductive, and in violation of the forum rules. Please don't do it again.

Everything does have market potential, but I think the poster above has it straight. Copyright issues for some of those clips will be a bitch to attain for distribution.

I would say this will have as much problems as Beavis and Butthead. Even more so since B&B used music differently and could be seen without those segments. This on the other hand needs those clips to make any sense.

I would buy the original I Love the 80s and 70s in a heartbeat, along with When Metal/Star Wars ruled the World. A big maybe on strikes back and 90s.

In this day and age, wouldn't they have the rights straightened out before airing the show?

One would think, but if that were the case, why are they still charging a lot for some newer shows, changing the music in other shows, and just not releasing others due to music clearance rights. I imagine clearing the rights for music on DVD is a bitch either way, and some new shows just don't want to pay all that money up front because they don't really know if it will be a guaranteed hit.

In the meantime, I am still wondering if we will ever see Malcom in the Middle season two on DVD.

It's different ball parks when you pay or clear those rights to air on television broadcast purpose opposed to getting them cleared to be put on a DVD for retail sale.

Some of those deals may have only been cleared to air a certain amount of times or under certain agreements.
