and it`s very hard to get at the dvd`s,

had the same problem, wish they would have made the box thicker instead of the plastic wrapping that you throw away

It was so thick, I had to microwave the plastic off my set.

I'm actually glad the plastic is thick. I could see a thinner plastic tearing easily and the box artwork getting scratched.

Yeah, I had to use a knife, and ended up cutting my finger. That's what I get for cutting toward myself. :D

Actually, it was a genuine pain if you wanted to check the discs for scratches in the parking lot as I sometimes do now(after several Fox TV set scratched discs) and didnt have anything sharper than keys...

Use a lighter to burn it off. It works! Really!

Mine was think too. But I had already forgotten after I took 2 seconds to remove it for the first and only time. :D

It was thick, but i poked a whole through it with a pen in my car and got through it just fine.

no problem scissors didn't fix :)

What? Is the OP 90 years old? Who complains about the thickness of PLASTIC WRAP!

Throw away?? I leave that on for protection.
