TCM, uncut and OAR. Actually some of the later films may not be completely uncut, but I usually just watch TCM for the classics.

IF I had a DVD recorder, I would use it to record UGA football games and find a way to have Larry Munson voiced over doing the play by play.

record a lot of old movies on TCM that are not available on DVD - also some tv shows - though sometimes store them on rewriteable DVD-RAM.

Primarily we have been using the DVD recorder for TCM. Also for movies that are OOP or bare bones releases. I have a large VHS collection of music videos (I taped 120 minutes religiously on MTV) and am slowly sorting through and recording what i want to keep.

I thought I would use it for TV shows a lot, but I haven't yet (unless I can find my old tapes of The Idiot Box).

Yeah, I don't really use it much for TV shows either. I usually like to record a whole evening of TV. On my SVHS 6 hour recordings look great. On my DVD Recorder the are unwatchable.

DVD-R is fine for a two hour movie in SP mode on TCM, but terrible for lengths longer than that. At least to my eyes.

Actually I record stuff I wanna keep... hoping its not illegal, but some TV shows off HBO... and Movies, that were on HBO/MAX etc... that I would like to see again, a few times, but really wouldn't care enough about to buy the DVD.

ALSO... I have aspirations of transferring old videos of home movies, we don't have a lot... but I someday hope to put those on a DVD

I used it to burn a copy of the criterion LD of Blade Runner. It turned out really good too. I'm also going to burn DVDs of my Twin Peaks season 2 LDs.
