Do you bring a wishlist when you shop for DVD's?
Just taking a poll to see how many people do or don't bring a list of wanted DVD's with them when they shop for DVD's?
I always do, just too many I want to remember them all. But instead of the complete list I come up with a list of about 30 that I want the most. Also helps in case the store doesn't have a specific title in stock, I can always look for another title on my list. |
Nope, usually when i go looking for dvd's it's at walmart cause thats the only place around here that sells them (I'm in Iowa :( ) So i make it my mission to get the dvd i want and get the fuck out as fast as possible.
And when they don't have what i want and it happens quite a bit, i leave the store pissed off and go order it off ddd and wait a week for it to arrive. |
No, I don't, as I'm usually looking for just one or two things in particular (or I'm just looking around).
no i dont. but its something i should start doing.
I don't. I usually know exactly what I'm looking for--either a new release, or something that I know is on sale that week.
I have a small written list of stuff I need to get on my desk, but I never bring it with me because there are so many other things I see in the stores that I want to get as well.
I keep a wish list at DVD Aficionado as a reference for DVDs I have some interests in purchasing at a later time. Sometimes I use it when looking for DVDs online but I never take a list with me to any B&M stores.
I went for the "special occassions" reply because I rarely take a list unless it's a heavy week and I know I'll be out hittin' a number of stores for treasure. I'll jot down the title and who has the best price. On an average week, it's not that hard :P
Nope no list for me.
I only buy must haves, and by that I mean I probably only buy a dvd on average once a month on-line. Netflix will save you tons of money if you give it a chance.
I have wishlist of about 175-200 movie titles with their respective DDD prices that I take with me when I go to stores that I've never been to before or when I go to a place that's really far away from home.
Not for me.

I have a wish list on DVDAF...but never really use it or maintain it, so dont bother looking. writing them down with added notes is easiest for me. then I just take 9 or 10 off the list each week....and buy them. I have a totally different list for new releases through about December. for the last 3 weeks...it's been mostly new releases I've been adding because the brutal 60 hour work weeks have been screwing with my shopping time.:grunt: so no...I dont take my entire wish list with me....if I go out to a store. just the ones I need most. and I never have browsed or hunted for the best deals. I just get whatever I want from whoever can get it to me the fastest and with great service. building a library is a hard, long job. buying 10 a week can get confusing...so I keep my little black book at the ready at all times. |
no, if i want to buy a dvd, i know what im getting, go get it and leave.
ok i made a boo-boo...i chose the one for birthdays/xmas...but wat that means is that i write a list of wat i want and give it to mom/dad, whoever so they know wat i want
when im buying for myself, i buy online.....but saying that, with Amazon I do use their wishlist thingy :) |
I said YES, but for me its a list of DVD's and when they are coming out. I keep my wish list of released DVD's on Amazon. I try not to WANT too much. But it helps to know what you want when you go to the store so you dont buy too much on impulse.

I'm not a big shopper, thanks to Netflix, but I do keep an uncomprehensive list of titles I'd like to own eventually on my PDA (I use a program called Handy Shopper - Palm OS). What I find it most useful for is keeping track of multiple versions of a DVD. If I see something I've been wanting for a while on sale I like to be able to check and make sure it's the version I've intended to buy.
Nope, but I wish I did. Usually I go off the list that is in my head.
Once I got my collection up to a certain level, there was no need for a list. When I'm out looking for DVDs, I have a mental note of what I'm looking for.
B&M coupons and sales are the only "special occasions" when I shop with a DVD wish list. (For example, I'll make a list of MGM bargain titles I'm interested in when CC or Fred Meyer has one of their "buy 1 $9.99 MGM title, get 1 free" coupons/sales.)
I have a wish list on my computer, and I usually have about the top 10 memorized. It's gotten to the point where I almost buy used movies exclusively so having a list is a good idea for me since the places I shop don't always have every used movie I want.
Never. My wishlist is stored with DVDEmpire and then moved into my weekly order/preorder at the end of the week.
Never. If I'm at a store getting a DVD, I'm looking for certain titles. If they don't have them, then I don't get them. While looking I might find some other ones I may want instead, and I'll get those.
The way I look at it is if I can't remember what I want, then I must not really want them. |
I sure don't. I pretty much know what I want.
I make mental notes right before leaving the house.
