How will you watch your shiny, new "Star Wars Trilogy" DVD set?
 

With the first two eps on DVD and now the coveted trilogy coming on Sept. 21, Do you plan on watching sometype of marathon? Doing the first 2 and then 4,5,6? Or just 4,5,6 and the docs, etc...

I am sure many have planned for this day, so how will you watch?? I myself am not completely sure...

I didn't think anyone was going to buy it...

I can't get the day off, so I'll just pick it up at lunch, and probably watch the documentary first (although I'll have to throw in ANH just to watch the star destroyer go by in remastered anamorphic sweetness). Have to wait for the weekend to really dive into the movies.

Got mine coming from Amazon, so I have no idea when it'll arrive, but surely before the weekend, so I'll probably do a marathon watch of just IV-VI on Saturday.

I'll watch each (4,5,6) on each consecutive night.

I'm going to put all the disc in the dvd player at the same time and watch them all at once.....

nice. does that include 1 & 2 or just trilogy?

I'm gonna watch ep. 1, then ep. 2 and then pretend i'm watching ep. 3 for 2 hrs and THEN watch 4,5 and 6.


It will be a GLORIOUS night of entertainment.

We just got a surround sound system, so I'm very excited about watching all three in a row.

But the place I work at will get it for rent tomorrow, so I can watch the doumentary tomorrow night.

I'll watch the trilogy in order and not concern myself with the current trilogy which is incomplete. :)

That's my plan also. When Episode III eventually comes out, then I will probably have a 6-night marathon.

I'm taking that day off....because I'll be grabbing the box at midnight and staying up all night with buddies for a mini-marathon. I'll pass on stringing them all in a big heap.....I only have interest in the ones finally arriving.

As a long-time Star Wars fan (you know, the type that has a lifesized Han in Carbonite in his home theater...), it pains me to say that...

I probably won't watch this for a couple of weeks after it comes out.


I have a new HDTV coming in during the next few days, and a few things to add/move around in my home theater. I suspect that it'll take me a couple of weeks to calibrate my TV and set up my new home theater optimally. So I'm going to hold off until everything is perfect.

(Then I'm going to watch all 3 straight in a super marathon session. I sure hope the neighbors decide to go out that day... 'cuz I ain't holding back. :) )

Since I'm not getting the day off anymore, I'll probably check out the fourth disc the evening of the 21st and catch some key scenes here and there 'til the weekend.

Jokes aside... I'm starting with the cool documentary first.

I feel the 24-hour Flu coming on that day.

I can't take the day off from work so I'll try to watch as much of the boxset that I can on release day.

I will watch the trilogy only, over a period of a couple days when it gets here.

Have not, and will not, own or watch any of the new ones.

When I get around to it. I just got to Indiana Jones box set a couple of weeks ago even though I PM it at Best Buy on the release date.

I'm going to watch Attack of the Clones....next I'm going to watch Return of the Jedi, followed by Star Wars...after that I'm going to watch The Phantom Menace and then the Bonus Disc...I'll finish it all up with The Empire Strikes Back.

I won't have time to watch the trilogy. I'll be too busy reading all the Star Wars threads here, because, you know, there can never be too many Star Wars threads..

I am definitely picking them up at Midnight somewhere. I'll most likely watch the prequels before going to sleep and then when I get up marathon the OT plus extras.

It'll be sometime after Christmas by the time I watch it so I'm not sure yet. We have the LD's so the DVD's will be a Christmas present for my son.

I want to see the documentary first, then the movies.

If you're going to do this why not just watch the prequels, got to bed, then when you wake up go buy the OT and watch it?

Me and my Parents will probably watch it over the course of a weekend (ANH on Fri, ESB on Sat, and ROTJ on Sun)... But I'll probably have to wait til xmas because I have too other box sets I want more I'll be buying (Felicity Junior Year & Popular Season 1)

I have booked the day off work. Last Tuesday I watched Phantom Menace, this tuesday I will watch Attack of the Clones, and next Tuesday, I will be watching eps 4,5,6 and then the bonus disc, and then eps 4,5,6, with commentary.... I'll be watching ALL DAY. Should be GREAT.

On A&E Star Wars Empire of Dreams is airing!

First off, I'm going to dress up like Yoda. Then I'm going to put all my Star Wars action figures on the couch next to me. Then, only then will I watch Star Wars. After that, Mom will have dinner ready. Then I'll have to take a bath (with my action figures). After that, Empire time baby! After Empire, I'll be all cozy in my Ewok PJ's, just in time for some Returm of the Jedi! My D&D friends are coming over too! Mom's gonna pop some popcorn, & we'll be having some Star Wars fruit snacks as a very special treat!

Is "Returm of the Jedi" a new one? Maybe it's on the bonus disc.

I find it so ironic that people make fun of Star Wars fans as being all nerdy, glasses-wearing, mom-loving, toy-collecting, with-parents-living geeks....yet these are the same nerds spending hours on an internet web site MAKING FUN of the fans. I have a pretty good idea which is sadder. I'd rather have fun watching these movies than lead a miserable life like that.

Hey, hes got a point. I mean, I like star wars as much as the next guy but I sure as hell am not going to take a day off work (and school) to watch it. That being said, I'll prolly wait till I get home to watch them. One a night.

Well I got through about half the bonus disc late last night after all the football games. And today I watched ANH. It is definitly a sight to behold...Tomorrow will be ESB, and Tuesday will be Jedi, and finishing up the bonus disc.

Tuesday night: A New Hope
Wednesday night: Empire Strikes Back
Thursday night: Meet the Parents
Friday night: Return of the Jedi

I'm watching THX-1138 and American Graffiti right before going into the Trilogy.

Because that wouldn't be the Star Wars Way. Going to midnight events is part of the culture. I know I'm gonna be at a local store the evening of the 20th. :D

Im gonna watch a IV-VI marathon on the weekend

Just saw the documentary on A&E, which is the one that will be on the DVD. So, I'll start with ANH, then TESB, and finally ROTJ, all on conseqcutive nights. Can't wait to give my Onkyo HT the workout! :thumbsup:

I'll watch them quickly. I don't want my rentals to be overdue.

It makes it pretty easy to make fun of Star Wars nerds when they nitpick over someone typing an m instead of an n.
