? about oop Criterion pricing.
I have a copy of both Salo and the Killer. They are disc only (no insert or cover)
Anyway, I hate to part with them, but I'm currently strapped for cash. My question(s) are: Should I try my luck on Ebay or stick with a trade/sell forum, like the one on here? What kind of price should I ask for these? |
I don't think you'll get much at all without the insert or cover. The insert to "The Killer" is kinda important as it has been long bootlegged. I wouldn't go buying the farm with these two you have. Sorry!

You will lose a lot because of the lack of cover and insert. But considering how much Salo is long for, I'm sure you can get atleast 40% of what is it going for without those two things as long as you make sure to point out that it is not a bootleg and go out of your way to prove it.

The people willing to pay $250-300 for a copy of Salo aren't doing so because they want to watch the movie, they are collectors. Collectors generally want the packaging and could care less about disc only titles. You can probably get a little more than the bootlegs get, but I doubt you can pull in more than $50-75 at the most. Good luck with it though!

I would say you could easily get upwards of $50 for the Salo disc.

This is true in any collecting field. If the item is damaged or missing parts, there is a significant discount in the price the item will go for. I suspect that he will be lucky to get even the 40%

Yep, I was afraid of that. Thanks for the responses.

Smells like bootleg to me. You might luck out and get a sucker to buy them from you for a nice price, but most will take a pass.

No, actually I got them at some pawn shops a few months after they went oop. I did some checking around and they are the real deal. Too bad everything wasn't there. :)
