new 24: s3 news
taken from Digital Bits:
On the Fox front, we've learned that the studio's 24: The Complete Third Season (due on 12/7) will feature a special "half episode" written by the show's creators and shot with the cast. It's designed to bridge the time span between seasons 3 and 4, and introduce some of the new characters and situations that will appear in season 4. Very cool. You can read more on this at Video Business. can someone who is a member of Video Buisness post what was said on there? i'd really appreciate it. |

Good to hear. S2 very well made up for the basically bare bones S1, and S3 sounds even better. |
Very cool. I like it!

I can't wait... I loved Season 3 and this extra half hour sounds promising... a very cool DVD bonus indeed.

Suddenly my decision to get S3 from the Uk seems like not a very good one.

I'm a member but do not see anything on the site or in the latest print magazine (which I got today) that mentions this bit of info.
Sorry |

Sorry The 10-minutes of new footage on the Dec. 7 release will serve as a teaser for the delayed debut of the new season of 24 on Jan. 3. Material offers the first introductions of the many new cast members and their characters, including the new head of CTU and the new love interest for Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer character, Audrey Raines, played by Kim Raver. The scenes were all scripted and produced by the 24 creative team during production of the new season. While the scenes do not play in a fluid storyline, they serve as a bridge to the events that took place from the end of last season and the beginning of the next. They will not be shown on TV or anywhere else, according to Fox. It's all part of the increasingly blurring line between marketing and creativity, with the former spurring the latter. Fox was one of the first networks to use the timing of the previous season of a TV series on DVD--the first season of 24--as a promotional vehicle for the debut of the next season. Now that practice has become more common, not only at Fox but with other studios as well, including Universal and its release last month of the first season of The Apprentice with teasers featuring the new Trump-aspirants on the second season that debuts this week. Buena Vista worked with the producers of Alias to produce a seven-minute animated short with the voices of the stars of that series that fills gaps relative to characters' activities between seasons. That animated short is part of the Alias Season 3 DVD that debuts this week, well in advance of new episodes in the fourth season of that series in January. In addition to the new scenes, the 24 Season 3 DVD Collection ($69.98) includes all 24 episodes from last season, as well as dozens of deleted scenes, multiple audio commentaries with cast and crew, and several extensive behind-the-scenes featurettes. |

Minus commercials it could be!

I was going to get it regardless, but this does sound like a cool special feature. It'll make the wait for January a little easier, or, more than likely, A LOT harder as I'll want to see the show now.
December and January can't come soon enough!!!! |
sounds good to me...I was gonna buy it anyway so it's a nice bonus

Originally posted by flashburn Sounds cool and all, but how exactly does 10 minutes = half an episode. That is nowhere near half. |
Thanks for the assist futbol. Where was this? I did a search on 24 and ran through the DVD news and did not see anything.

Excellent news!

Great news! I can't wait for Season 3! I heard it was much better than Season 2.
