What are your (Unreleased) Dream Box Sets?

Here's mine:

Lee Marvin Action Pack
Point Blank, Prime Cut, Emperor of the North, Monte Walsh

Randolph Scott/Budd Boetticher Collection
Seven Men From Now, The Tall T, Comanche Station, Ride Lonesome, Decision at Sundown, Buchanan Rides Alone, Westbound

Warners Gangster Collection
White Heat, The Roaring Twenties, Little Caesar, Public Enemy, Angles With Dirty Faces

Sam Fuller's Big Bloody Box
Merrill's Marauders, Steel Helmet, Park Row, Forty Guns, Verboten!, White Dog

This would take a nice bite out of my impatiently-waiting-for-DVD list.

corycouger 09-09-04 03:01 PM

Miami Vice but if they ever release that, they would do it season by season.

chente 09-09-04 03:35 PM

A Warner Gangster Set with the films you mention would be great.

Sonny 09-09-04 08:56 PM

Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple Box Set.

2Lane Blacktop 09-09-04 09:15 PM

David Lynch and Mark Frost's On The Air series (only 7 eps., perfect for a single release).

The Addams Family, which would probably be season-by-season, but that's okay.

Max Headroom

...and I'm hoping the Donnie Darko director's cut comes out in a special edition that includes the original version of the film as well... if they don't do it know, you know Criterion will do it later.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? box. Either US or British version, I'm not picky.

And as an anime nerd, Space Cruiser Yamato season boxes. Subtitled and remastered please.

The Star Wars Saga: Episodes 1- 6

toobsock 09-10-04 12:09 AM

Star Wars O-OT, but visually cleaned up w/o additions. Also would have ports of the LD documentaries as well as deleted scenes.

The Warner gangster set is actually coming out as the James Cagney Signature Collection. I think it will include:

The Public Enemy
White Heat
Angels with Dirty Faces
The Roaring Twenties

As for my personal dream boxset would be a Akira Kurosawa Early Films box set including:

The Most Beautiful
Sugata Sanshiro
Sugata Sanshiro 2
Uma
The Men Who Treads on the Tiger's Trail
Those Who Make Tomorrow
No Regrets for Our Youth

Numanoid 09-10-04 12:13 AM

Twin Peaks: Season Two :sigh:

Forum Troll 09-10-04 12:16 AM

The "Shameless Advertising" collection, with:

The Wizard
Mac and Me
The Garbage Pail Kids Movie
Pokemon: The Movie
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie

RevKarl 09-10-04 12:51 AM

"Preston Sturges at Paramount"

The Great McGinty
Christmas in July
Sullivan's Travels
The Lady Eve
The Palm Beach Story
The Miracle of Morgan's Creek
Hail the Conquering Hero
The Great Moment

"Ernst Lubitsch Collection"

The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg
The Love Parade
Trouble in Paradise
Design for Living
The Merry Widow
Ninotchka
The Shop Around the Corner
To Be or Not to Be
Heaven Can Wait
Cluny Brown

(and, yes, I'm aware that some of the above films have been released on DVD...but the box sets would be incomplete without them.)

Of course, it would need to be capable of accommodating all future Bond films for me to consider it a "dream" set.

Also, China Beach which seems more like a pipe dream.

Definitely NOT a "dream set", but a Phantasm set including all four movies would be of interest...

All the Beneath the Crust DVDs were edited down segments (for the first two Pie flicks) of what was featured in the American Pie Revealed DVD in the American Wedding gifset.
