Shrek 2 separate DTS version?

I was adding Shrek 2 to my DVD Profiler, and noticed several UPC's for it. One of the UPC's was a DTS R1. It's UPC is 75874-68952. You can click my profiler link & look at my wishlist. The release dates are different. I smell a mistake. I also came up with this by googling the upc.

Looks like a movie only DTS version.

I haven't read about a movie only DTS version. Can anyone confirm this?

Absolutely nothing is listed on Universal's sites... I smell a (very well done) bootleg.

How would a bootleg have a UPC like that?

joshualane 09-06-04 04:52 PM

I don't know, but there's no way a DTS Shrek 2 DVD was released on July 1st... less than 2 months after the movie premiered. Even the purchase date of August 23rd is still way too early.

As for the UPC, I'm guessing lots of bootlegs get them, if only to make the disc look more legit. The code would be entirely bunk of course.

It's a bootleg. Trust me, whenever you see a DTS9 or DVD9 sticker on the casing, it is pirated copy.
