Granted where I live isnt exactly out of the woods, but I dont know why people always want to live in places like Florida...especially old people. Talk about things I dont want to deal with when Im 70.
|
ahhh dam i hope it doesnt hit us..
|
ENDContra, what are you talking about??!! The last Hurricane that actually hit Miami was "Andrew" in 92
|
Hurricanes suck, good luck man, maybe you can ship them to a relative or something to definitely be safe...but damn..to think I was thinking about moving to Florida a few months ago, I think I'll just stay here in NYC, I Can deal with the blizzards

Why would people want to live in Florida?
Barely-legal topless Brazillian girls in thongs lying around on public beaches is a good start. Also, orange juice. |
There is always something. Nature (wind, fire, water, earthquake, heat, time, ...), People (family, friends, lovers, nut cases, kids, thieves), and Pets. Keep records, have insurance (too many people living in apartments don't have insurance). Don't be so attached that you go into a depression if something does happen. Think of the fun you will have buying them again, this time leave out the weeds :) .
I was robbed of about 300 of 600 a few years ago. I got back most at a local Pawn shop and the kids were captured (all from the neighborhood). I didn't get back my Limited Edition Disney's but now I don't keep them with the rest. Live and learn. |
The first thing I thought of was to take pictures and let the insurance company take care of it if something happens to them.

No income taxes, low taxes, beautiful weather other than the occasional hurricane, and beautiful women with ridiculous bodies. Hek I wanna move to Florida :D Oh yeah, to the OP, have insurance and just take the rare OOP ones with you when you flee. The rest can be replaced easily. |

I am right in the path of Frances.
Although I have a small collection I don't want to lose it. I took lots of pictures and printed my dvd profiler collection. Now I'm leaving town and hoping for the best. |

If it is truely a big hurricane, you try and save your life. My mother was a survivor of the 38 hurricane that hit New England.
During the storm the water flowed across Long Island from the Atlantic to the Long Island Sound. The water flowed from the East River for 5 blocks into Manhatten (This was on the weak side of the storm and 70 miles from the center). After the storm the sand was piled for 1 to 3 floors next to building in the city of Long Beach (about 30 miles east of the center and on the weak side). When the storm hit you could detect the vibrations on earthquake equipement in Alaska Austin |

Originally posted by khai I'm starting to hate Florida. :( Being in Central Florida and getting knocked around by Charley. Having no power for over a week.. makes khai a crazy crazy man. And Frances... heading straight towards Central Florida a few weeks later. SOMEBODY STAB ME WITH A BLUNT OBJECT. Let's hope it just takes a bizarre nosedive out into the ocean and misses us all |
i'm gonna be right here to spit in the eye of frances. fuck that bitch, bring it on. i'm not gonna let a little hurricane scare the shit outta me, i'm gonna be a man and protect my family to the best of my ability. if it doesn't kill me then i don't give a crap. things can be replaced, houses can be rebuilt, but i can never have another son or wife like the ones i have now.

For god sakes.. why don't all the house builders or whatever in the Hurricane area build their homes/stores underground? Use concrete walls and everything would be pretty much safe.

That's the reason there are no basements in the homes down here. |
