Trainspotting -- lost scenes?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the information in the “alternate versions” section for Trainspotting on imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117951/alternateversions) is correct, about the “original UK special edition box set video” and all of its deleted scenes. According to the information, a special edition of the video was released in the UK and withdrawn after 2 days, as it had more than 9 deleted scenes.

I still haven’t picked up the new US DVD, but I know it contains 9 deleted scenes, none of them the ones listed in the alternate versions section, which were apparently “mistakenly” inlcuded on the original UK release (ie, Sick Boy wearing a skull mask while looting a house, Renton laying on a stretcher, etc). I’ve scoured the Web trying to find more info about this, but there isn’t any. So is it all just a bunch of nonsense, or is it for real?

I haven't heard anything about this, but I would be very interested in seeing some of those deleted scenes, if they exist. Would love for someone in the know to weigh in on this.

It might just be a rumor; apparently, a British release was postponed or recalled at one point (soon after it came out) because it was accidentally the international cut, where the version cleared for release in England had cut a few bits of heroin use.

Weird that a movie as popular as Trainspotting which has seen many different incarnations on DVD in various regions would exclude such deleted scenes. You'd think at the very least there would be fansites with all this info if they existed.
