Seinfeld Commentaries
Found this on tvshowsondvd.com. Looks like they did the commentaries in groups, and Jerry wasn't with the other three actors. Kind of a bummer, I was looking forward to a group commentary.
Volume 1 "The Stake Out" - Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld "The Busboy" - Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards "The Baby Shower" - Larry Charles "The Heart Attack" - Larry Charles "The Revenge" - Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards "The Deal" - Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld Volume 2 "The Library" - Larry Charles "The Pen" - Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld "The Parking Garage" - Tom Cherones and Tom Azzari "The Subway" - Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards "The Boyfriend" - Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards "The Pez Dispenser" - Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld "The Limo" - Larry Charles "The Parking Space" - Tom Cherones and Tom Azzari |
Sort of a double edged sword, I guess.
I am thrilled that EVERY episode has a commentary, but I kind of figured that they might separate the group, as I have a pretty good feeling that there is still some bad blood over the whole monetary thing between Jerry (part owner of the show) and the rest of the case (non-owners). Until the "new deal" came through, Jerry was going to be the only one to profit from the DVD release (of the cast) since he was the only one of them that owned any part of the show. I would rather have separated commentaries instead of none at all, so if this is the best thing they could come up with, I applaud them for that. |

I was thinking the exact same thing PS..I think "The Deal" is one of the best written episodes of the entire series I'm looking forward to Larry David's insight |
Serenity now! :)
Can't wait to get this. I'm fortunate enough that I will get them for free for review purposes. |

Either way, its better than no commentaries. :) |
I'm familiar with many DVDs which seperate "cast" and "crew" [remember, Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld are credited writers on many of the old episodes] on commentary tracks, so I don't see this as a big difference.
Besides, it's not like the actors were recorded together anyway, is it? "The Boyfriend" - Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards |
??? Looks like every episode has commentary to me!
"The Boyfriend" commentary should be 23 minutes, done by Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards together. Maybe they were recorded separate, but they are mixed together (ala the Terminator 2 or Star Wars commentaries) |
There are 40 episodes on the two sets, and 14 commentaries.
"The Boyfriend" was an hour-long episode, hence TGG's comment. http://www.epguides.com/seinfeld/ Rob |
