Having said that ....the Troy release is much too skimpy on bonus features - you have to believe that something else is scheduled down the road.

I saw this in the theaters. It was okay.

I'll probably wait until it drops to 2 for $15 or 2 for $20 deal.

Average movie and this dvd release isnt going to convince me otherwise. They are obviously holding all the goodies back for a double dip, so i will just wait till then.

I think I'll wait too. Skimpy extras and bad cover art... plus I've heard that a bit was cut from the movie to make it a tamer R, so I'm also hoping there might be a harder director's cut.

Gonna wait. Movie prices are dropping fast (into those 2 for $20 deals or similar) and this movie is one of those that I can wait to see.

I don't know are they. It's Warner. As far as I know, the only double-dips on non-catalogue releases have been for The Matrix Reloaded and ... Revolutions, both as part of a box set including a catalog titles, and Gothika (inexplicably!).

I'm suprised there isn't some History Channel special included, those are usually great extras that add some real value to the set. As for after Christmas, that can be a great time to release a disc. Folks have Christmas money burning a hole in their pocket and are looking for new discs for their new player. Here's your proof, a little movie called The Bourne Identity, released after Christmas and was huge, I believe it sold the most copies that year or was rented the most. BTW - I'll need to check this out at home, since I feel asleep when I saw it in the theater and didn't see the final battle, this movie is that boring folks.

I was hoping for a great release of this, but so far, no good. I didnt see it in the theater, it looked like a movie that screamed to be shown on a Great Home Theater though

WB soundtracks are always crappy! It's not about DTS ...WB does have shitty audio.

The cover DOES look like shit.

And the features look SLIM.

I don't think I'm bashing....just laying out fact and opinion
No, using the adjective "terrible" in front of anything is a simple judgement call. Which of course, makes that an opinion.

I actually like the cover art. Besides, how often do we get a R1 disc that uses official poster art? Very rarely, if ever.

Bad sound for all WB non-DTS releases? Not hardly. Gods & Generals was a WB release and I thought it had great sound.

Terrible features? You haven't seen them yet. 'Nuff said.

Anybody else puzzle about the addition of the Photo Gallery feature of Mount Olympus with the Greek Gods on the DVD since they removed the Gods participation in the movie.

I went to see this with low expectations, but I saw it at the DLP theater in Plano, TX and I really really enjoyed it.

I cannot wait to see it on my new DLP television! It is one of the titles that I am most waiting for this winter.

Its better. Would of preferred if the entire color scheme was gold instead of the brightly colored background.

Check it -
Well sure, it looks nice. But you know as soon as you bring it home and open it up, hundreds of little soldiers will jump out, attack you, and take over your house.
