Clerks X Question

So do we have a definite yet on whether everything from the first disc is on the new Clerks X disc? I'm wanting to get rid of my first one, if so...

lcnickell 08-21-04 09:58 PM

Yes, everything is there and more.

trade or sell while you can get money for it..

SEARCH is also your friend, there's a long thread already going on

Rammsteinfan 08-21-04 09:59 PM

With as much stuff that is on the new 3 disc set... it should be worth the upgrade either way.

The new set does have the trailers, commentary and music videos that were on the original release.

If a makes a difference to you, it seems as though you cannot view the deleted scenes by themselves in Clerks X as you did on the first release. They are only available as part of the disc 2 cut of the film.

Hamburger3 08-22-04 02:38 PM

I think the deleted scenes have intro's by Kevin so you dont get those either on the new one.

Chris Lanphear 08-22-04 07:40 PM

Even if the new disc preserved everything exactly as it was on the first release, I'd still keep mine, as it's signed by Mewes.

Note that, unlike most View Askew discs, those introductions were audio only. They're pretty short, too.

FreshOne 08-23-04 11:25 AM

They modified the audio for the main feature. Some ADR, some sfx work, if that bothers you, you might want to hold onto your original.

QuiGonJosh 08-23-04 11:36 AM

I'll probably sell my old one...a few deleted scenes isnt quite enough to keep both...

ds6161 08-23-04 07:21 PM

DDD.com finaly has it listed but it says all the discs are fool frame..

is this true or a f&^% up???

PixyJunket 08-23-04 07:41 PM

Fool frame? What the fuck is that?

Disc one is the theatrical version MATTED DOWN to 1.85:1.

Disc two is the original version in it's ORIGINAL 1.33:1 ratio.

Rypro 525 08-23-04 07:49 PM

apparently the original sundance cut is taken directly from a super vhs source, so its in full frame, but the theatrical release was intended for 1:85:1.

OldBoy 08-24-04 07:37 PM

Digital Eyes has all 3 discs listed as full screen...is this true??? is nothing in Widescreen?? please someone relinquish my fears!!

QuiGonJosh 08-25-04 06:28 AM

Heres the review from NewsAskew:

http://newsaskew.com/dvd/clerksX/

First disc is Anamorphic 1:85:1

Second disc is Full Frame...the way it was shot...

ImpalaSS99 08-29-04 10:43 PM

Will the clerks X bought from normal retailers also bear Smith's signature?

thanks for the reply man

ill buy it from viewaskew :)

Josh-da-man 08-30-04 09:22 PM

Was "Clerks" even shot with widescreen in mind?

I seem to recall that, on the commentary, Smith mentioned something to that effect, about how he didn't frame the picture to be matted, but it looked okay that way.

So having the fullframe cut doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Snowmaker 11-15-04 07:17 PM

So, what's the final word on what is lost/different from the first release to the X release?

Banky 11-15-04 07:24 PM

buy the disc. If you care enough to know whats different, then its worth it. You wont be diappointed.

I have them both. I just want to make sure I am not missing a reason to NOT get rid of the first one.

Banky 11-15-04 09:11 PM

If you have them both, why not just compare? Just a thought.

I'm too lazy and don't have the time.

Plus, I figure by now someone else must have done it.

jough 11-15-04 10:23 PM

There's only one version of Clerks X. There isn't a separate FF and WS version like with some releases.

The deleted scenes are missing as a feature by themselves on the X disc, along with the commentary about why they were cut. The scenes themselves though can be seen in the Sundance cut of the film on the second disc, integrated into the film.

I have both, and haven't sold the original disc yet only because I could only get about $5 for it (if that) on eBay. I figured I'll just keep it or give it away for that money. $5 isn't even worth my time to put up the auction.
