I've really trimed my collection down over the past few years but have hung on to Moulin Rouge and Saving Private Ryan. I don't hate the films but I certainly don't enjoy them as much as the rest of my collection. I generally keep them about for sound demos.

As far as my collection goes, I would have sold any dvds I really don't care for. But my mom's "collection"of 10 dvds or so contains Maid in Manhattan. Good God. With only 10 dvds, you'd think movies like that could be avoided. I swear, I'd have to disown her if I ever saw How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days in there. I only made it through 1/3 of the movie and was so annoyed with it, I just stopped the bleeding and walked away.

Yes, she does. But those movies aren't a good example!

Actually, I don't mind The Matrix so much, it's just that I was hoping to have one of the few collections without it (because it's a mediocre film with very little rewatchability). But the execrable American Beauty? And Moulin Rouge! (which is surely based on a Three's Company episode... no, scratch that, ALL Three's Company episodes...)

Donnie Darko.

It came bundled with One Hour Photo. I hadn't seen either movie but had heard good things about both. One Hour Photo was decent, Donnie Darko sucked.

I hear you. I watched it for the first time a few days ago. One of the first movies that I actively heckled.

Requiem for a Dream: I liked the movie, but I don't have the need to feel like shit too often.

If I find I hate a movie and can't resell it I give it to 'Goodwill' along with other stuff I don't need. As a result I get some joy out of everything I own. Now there are a few things I have not seen yet but will get rid of them if they don't rate. The only one that I still have but was not able to finish was Romero + Juliet. I keep thinking I'm going to finish it one day.
