Michael Moore Limited Edition DVD Collector's Set

Please watch the threadcrapping. We're tired of doing clean-ups in every Michael Moore thread. If you're not interested, or think he's a "LOL fatty," or a commie pinko, or that he should be in jail, fine... just don't post about it in this thread. - Static

I was checking amazon.com and found out they're selling this limited edition set. It's Bowling For Columbine and The Big One collected in a set along with a Bonus disc: "39 Cities in 23 Days," a look at the book tour for Dude, Where's My Country?
It's only $20.99 for the complete set.Well worth it.Just ordered one for myself.

No other store seems to have this set.So maybe it's exclusive to amazon.com.Plus the weird thing is The Big One is from Miramax not MGM.

This is a great deal actually.
MGM also has stated that the 2-disc BFC will be in the boxset
(It is out of print individually, but you might be able to find some around)

Sounds good for me since a friend took my copy of the 2 disc BFC
and never gave it back. If i try to order the movie online, I was scared to end up with the single disc barebones edition.
Now no worries about that.

The 2 disc BFC is exactly the same as the 1 disc version, the only difference is the special features are on the opposite side of the disc, not on a seperate one (similar to the T2: Ultimate edition).

A Moore related question - I just saw "The Corporation" the other night, and they show a clip in it of Moore and a bunch of former smokers singing "Deck the Halls" in the lobby of one of the tobacco companies. Can you tell me what the clip's from?

That "Voicebox Choir" thing is from the first season of Moore's show The Awful Truth. Both seasons are available on DVD from Docurama.

Actually, MGM replaced the 2-disc and flipper versions with a single disc one sided version,
but they decided to keep the same barcode,
so you must look at the back of each box to tell them apart.

So if I try to order online, well i cant look at each disc before buying.

SO everybody is warned.....
there is a barebones one that looks quite identical to the loaded one.

I was thinking that when I checked it, but I know that that box has been mentioned in previous threads, and was supposed to contain a box-set exclusive as described above. I'm not sure whether it'll be Amazon exclusive or not, but, then again, it doesn't even mention it even on Amazon ...

What disappoints me is that it's not even quality thread-crapping. I always like it when people explain at great length just how bad he is; taking just a second to put in a picture of a face throwing up, or just "I'm going to criticize anything he does as pandering for more money" doesn't cut it when you're talking about the cause of the most thread-craps this side of Criterion's prices. I do admit, I like that guy who made the joke that was like "If you're truly open-minded, you'd get your information from *this* single source, instead of *that* one" or whatever the sig said. *That* was good satire.

But come on, they haven't even gotten into "39 Cities ... 23 Days ... 800 cheeseburgers". And what's a Michael Moore threadcrap without a "he's fat" joke?

Somebody's gotta send this whole thread to Mike Lowrey; he'll threadcrap on it, but he'll do it like a champ.

Where does it mention the bonus disc, though?
I can't see any info on the Amazon site either (other people have sadi the same here); the only info I've heard about this bonus disc is in this thread (maybe four or five posts down).

Amazing how quick it takes the threadcrapping to start. If you can't obey forum rules, why the hell are you here?

Does the box set come with any extras, like a pewter sickle-and-hammer pin?

Ah if one views The Big One, you'll see that Mike is a fan of the original filet of fish at McDonalds. It was filmed during a period of time McDonalds was experimenting with the added value of putting lettuce on the fish sandwich.

Actually my response to this boxset is No Pets Or Meat?

Hey, you know that part where I was criticizing threadcraps?

You're excluded from that, that was great.

It's not *that* hard ... if you're gonna threadcrap, threadcrap well.

toobsock, comments like this are completely unnecessary. If you enjoy posting here, I would suggest that you refrain from threadcrapping in the future.

I might pick this up... still haven't gotten BFC yet. There are still tons of 2-disc sets in all of the stores in my area.

Is "The Big One" worth the eleven bucks this set will cost me over the BFC SE?
