R there diff ver of OUATIAmerica?
I noticed that some boxes of Once Upon a Time in America look different. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but the release being so new I'm wondering is there something wrong with one of them and the other one is fixed or something.
The 2 boxs look the same but there are a few differences: Box 1: ISBN: 0-7907-3420-6 UPC 085392002627 Spine # 20026 Below the credits on back it says www.warnervideo.com Box 2: ISBN: 0-7907-8912-4 UPC 085393190927 Spine # 31909 Below the credits on back it says A Ladd Company Release ......so, are these both the same and if they are then why the difference? The things been out for less than a year. It doesn't make sense. Anyone, wanna shine some light on it? |

Could just be different pressing companies. Other than that it seems like nothing has changed on the dvd. |
Just to be a jerk, I checked for myself and found that "Are there different versions of Once Upon a Time in America?" does, in fact, fit perfectly into the subject header.

Everyone's a critic. I was just trying to make sure it fit in the heading. Now what's up with your advanced Micheal Jackson disorder there? Eh, Darth? |
Getting off topic folks, please let's focus on the question and try to keep this thread flame free and down to one page.

The original release was discontinued, and it was re-released with a different UPC. Both releases have the exact same content as far as I know.

Oh, man... your thread title makes my head hurt. Ow.
Anyway, yes... there were two releases. One is current, the other is OOP. Other than some minor differences in the placement of graphics on the box, etc. -- they are identical. I don't think anyone ever got a straight answer as to why this happened, but getting either edition will give you the same level of satisfaction. |
Thank You bboisvert.
