Gilmore Girls: Season 2 - 12/7/04

Gilmore Girls - Season 2 Announced!

8/17/2004

Warner Bros has just announced that Gilmore Girls: Season 2 will be released on December 7th, just in time for the holidays. This 6 disc set will contain all 22 episodes of the show, and retail for $59.98 US.

Those acclaimed Gilmore Girls are back for a second season of warmth, charm, zingy repartee and heart-stopping moments of drama. In this 6-disc set are all 22 irresistible year-two episodes about the people you've grown to love: young single mom Lorelai, her super-achieving daughter Rory, her elitist parents Emily and Richard, and a whole town of dreamers and eccentrics. New faces also come to Stars Hollow, including Luke's nephew Jess, whose rebelliousness offends the town, but whose passion for books attracts Rory. Hearts break and mend, careers end and begin, folks stumble and pick themselves up in a series that's "blissfully brilliant" (Ken Parish Perkins, Fort Worth Star-Telegram).

The set will contain over an hour of special features, along with a "Gilmorisms" booklet with the phrases coined by the girls throughout season 2.

Guess I better start watching Season 1. I don't know how I'm ever gonna get caught up with all these TV boxsets.

ABOUT TIME!!!! I just hope this set has an audio Commentary or two, it would be fun to hear the writers or Lauren Graham talk about the show.

This announcement makes me a very happy guy. Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows and I was just so worried that the sales wouldn't be strong enough for a Season 2 release. Now the only problem is that I want it in my hands right now.

Yeah, I would really like this set to have a few commentaries with the actors/writers, but it doesn't look like this is going to happen.

The week it came out, it was in the Top 20 in sales. While that is normal for Simpsons, Sopranos, etc., there are a LOT of TV shows that never achieve that position. I'd say it's sales were pretty good.

I could listen to Lauren Graham talk about the history of styrofoam.

No kidding. I've looked for this announcement every day since I finished watching season and came here right now JUST hoping to find this news. THANKS!

Maybe I'm just a dirty old man, ruined by marriage, but the young girl who plays Rory is a stunning looking young lady (She is 23 or something, so I'm not that bad). I predict she will be a star in movies.

The new season starts on Sept. 21, I think. Double Yay! But I wish season 2 wasn't so far away.

Has anyone seen the preview for the new season? I just saw it on the season finale of "Summerland"... and I hate to say it, but it looks really weird (not gilmorest at all) almost like the shows trying to be a drama.
