Got Saved by the Bell: The College Years Today!

I found this at a local video store for $34.99 but everything was 20% off so it was only $27.99

Wrong theme song, because I'm standing at the edge of tomorrow, and my future is looking bright for me.

Does this set include the original pilot? I remember seeing it right after the series finale of Saved By the Bell, and it featured a different actress in place of Tiffani "Don't call me Amber" Theissen.

Holy shit! I didn't realize that show was that old. The College Years started in '93? God I feel old now. But then of course, Showgirls is a '95 movie.

Lions Gate owns the rights to the "original" series. They have one more season (Season 5) and two television movies (Hawaiian Style and Wedding In Las Vegas) left to release.

Image Entertainment is releasing The College Years to DVD. All of the show's 19 episodes in a three-disc box set.

Now come on... where's the DVD releases of The New Class?

Well technically, it was more like four seasons... but for the sake of DVD release, it's five.

The show was only on the air from 1989 - 1993.
The College Years was on the air from 1993 - 1994.
The New Class was on the air from 1993 - 2000, longer than the show it span-off of.

Lets Hope The New Class never makes it to DVD! That rip off show should never see the light of day.

on the other hand i do want the two TV movies and the last season of the original series...

"The New Class" had a deceptively longer run than the original SBTB, because outside of Belding and Screech, they changed casts like every year.

Got this today it was really good but i was dissappointed that the last disc had only 3 episodes and no Special features. They could have squeezed it on 2 discs. My fav. episode is the rave because Those guys were trying to score Nitrous Oxide from Screech. Thats Classic. Overall Superb set that im happy to have in my collection. Also, Mark Paul Gosselar(Zack) was great in Dead Man on Campus.

Well Elizabeth Berkeley was in the final tvmovie/episode of the College Years for like 5 whole minutes which was made in 1994. You can tell she was working on Showgirls at the time by her hair, actually.

Don't ask.

Mine came yesterday from DDD (always a day late and a dollar short). Better late then never.

Gotta love the Thankgiving Episode with the great Mr. Belding/Dennis Haskins cameo. Definately my favorite under-rated actor of the franchise.

Never saw this show when it originally aired (it was in prime time back then), but am a fan of the original series, and definately like it better with no Jesse character.

Definately worth picking up, even if for only a few chuckles.

I think 8 episodes is plenty enough to squeeze on each of those first two discs.

On a completely random side note, this set also brings back college memories, as all of the exterior University shots were (quite obviously) taken at my alma mater (USC).

Too bad the typical SBTB budget didn't allow for more on location shooting instead of just stock shots, but with thy typical "use the same soundstage over and over and just move the furniture" metality of this little show, it didn't surprise me.
