I loved seeing this TV mini series from the BBC way back, with Albert Finney and Alec Guinness. Can't find it anywhere on DVD and the collector price on the VHS tape is outrageous. Is this ever coming out for us? In ANY region?

I'd REALLY like to see this again and own it!

From that link, it wasn't Alec Guinness. But, oddly, the main user review *also* cites how good Alec Guinness is in it.

I dont remember Sir Alec in it, but I'm a big fan of Albert Finney and I saw this on A&E about 10 years ago and liked it. I'd buy it.

You're most probably right. I read the A.G. reference in that comment and dropped his name, but probably the comment referred to Finney. I remember his performance vividly.
