I was going to purchase this set along with the season one DVD. Heard is was cancelled because Image lost their rights to the material. Think they would have had any issues resolved before announcing the release. Here is some more information about it at tvshowsondvd.com.

That sucks, would have been cool to see behind the scenes footage of the making of this show!

Looks like press copies or ("screeners", what have you) have made the rounds, there is still hope for the die hard munster fans. Getting one of these or a copy isn't easy though.

Most of the material was released on various PD VHS tapes. Not the best quality, but this stuff isn't that hard to find for those who want to see it. The color pilot is fun to watch, but it is easy to see why they switched casts and went with B/W.

That's too bad. I have a review copy, and while it's not perfect, it certainly would make a nice companion to the season set.

There is an update to the cancellation of Image's Munsters DVD at TV Shows on DVD. It doesn't appear to be a rights issue afterall but a voluntary withdraw by Image. Seems Universal asked them to stop the release because they were concerned about consumers becoming confused with two different releases of the Munsters on August 24. However there is a rumor of the Image material being added to Season 2 of the Munsters as bonus material. The rest of the article can be found in the following link.
