The Monster Squad on DVD a little news.

Not sure if this is old news, or new news but I found a little information on another board regarding its release. Like a lot of other DVDT'ers I am waiting for a release on DVD, heck I would even take a bare bones release, as long as it is widescreen.(a DTS track woundn't hurt either -ptth-

According to IGN's 'What's Up With?' dvd section, Anchor Bay is reportedly working on the dvd. Cross your fingers.

I also found this site dedicated to The Monster Squad

Also here is a little tidbit from the director

From this link:
http://www.geocities.com/themonsters...interview.html

"The Monster Squad" director Fred Dekker states:

" Speaking of which: all Monster Squad fans should unite and write your favorite home video company requesting a new, remastered, widescreen DVD (with director audio commentary, of course!). I don’t want to be self-serving by starting the ball rolling, but you guys can -- Just pretend it was your idea! A letter-writing campaign will have more effect than a phone call from a sniveling director. Those pan-scanned VHS tapes must be banished into the vortex! "

I am almost certain Paramount holds the right to this, as the film was produced by Taft, and Paramount controls their library now.

If Paramount has it, you can almost guarantee a bare bones release (though that Once Upon a Time in the West release was packed).

I don't really care for extras (It'd be nice). I just want remastered Widescreen and Stereo or 5.1 tracks.

Ya I would take a bare release too, as long as it was WS and a decent audio track, that would be great.

 lets keep out fingers crossed
