Looking for Charade Criterion 1st printing Info

Hello,

I recently purchased a Copy of Charade Criterion OOP and I wanted to verify that it is not a bootleg. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody that owns the disc could post the UPC and ISBN numbers that belong to this edition.

Also if somebody could email me a scan of the back that would be great, my email is: apguzman at gmail.com.

Thanks,
Armando

Why would you purchase you purchase the out-of-print version? The new, in-print version, as far as I know, has exactly the same features and is anamorphic (which the OOP one isn't). I hope you got the OOP one for a very low price...

Fandango - Thanks a bunch. The numbers match so I'll go ahead and open it.

Walter - I got if for fairly cheap, ~$15, but I got it as an experiment. I want to see first hand how much an anamorphic transfer improves the picture quality. I plan to get the new one and compare them side by side. My current TV is 1.33 but it does anamorphic squeeze.

When I get a widescreen TV, I plan to test them again and see then I should see a really big improvement.

Hey DVDs are not just about the movie every time, some times its fun to just play with the technology.

Wouldn't you just save 15 bucks and assume the new release is better?

Assume?

Actually, from what I saw at DVDBeaver (don't have the link, sorry), the 1.33 letterbox version looks slightly better on a 1.33 display.

But YMMV, of course.

I figure I'm gonna hold on to my OOP Charade 1st printing until I have the 16x9 display on which to properly show off the upgrade. Of course, if that goes out of print, I'll upgrade lickety split.

Daniel - But if I enjoy those "wasted" $15 then why not? We all watch movies to relax and have a good time right. I thought this might be something fun to do first hand. :D

The non-anamorphic image is sharper and has better contrast, even though it's lower-res than the newer 16:9.

On a 4:3 display I'd much rather watch the original disc anytime.
