Try Diabolikdvd - they have the 2 disc edition of Juon The Grudge as well as the theatrical sequel Juon 2.

I have a copy that's R0. The cover has a lenticular (3D-ish) cover. The back cover is printed in English and Thai (I believe).

Audio is: Thai DTS, Thai 5.1DD and Japanese 5.1DD.

English subs.

Unfortunately, every time I've bought a disc from this company, it's been at a comic book convention. I'm not sure if they have a website but I'm stopping by them again tomorrow (I wanna get Stacy and it's getting harder to find) and I'll ask them.

But I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there IS a R0 out there. If they carry it, someone else must.

Lions Gate should have their R1 DVD release out by either the end of the year or early 2005, that is if you want to wait...

I just ordered mine from dvdasian.com for $15. They've been very good for me. If I like the flick, I may pick up Ju-On 2 as well.

Thai Dvd

You can get the Thai dvd here.

It looks like part two doesn't have English subs though.

I'm also interested in this film, having read the recent Film Comment article on it. In fact, I'd rather see the Japanese versions before the US one, as I read it will reveal some of the secrets of the earlier films (since Hollywood cinema audiences prefer being old what things mean, rather than interpreting films on their own, I guess).

I’d prefer the original Region 3 DVDs, though they are usually expensive. Where is the best site for good prices on Region 3 DVDs? These films are super popular in Japan, so they must be some cheap versions of these on R3.

both Juon 1 and 2 Region 3 Korean ones are great,
pretty much ports of the Japanese R2 but adding English and Korean subs, and much cheaper.

www.koreandvds.com yesasia.com and many retailers should have them (they are both also reviewed on dvdtalk)

Region 3 DVDs are not usually expensive. Generally they are cheaper than R1s or around the same price. If you buy R3s domestically then they will cost more than if you bought them from a store in Asia. I prefer to use DVDAsian.com as my main store, but PokerIndustries is good as is DiabolikDVD, and XploitedCinema. You can try YesAsia or KoreanDVDs.com also.

www.cd-wow.net has some good prices on R3 releases, but their selection is very limited.

I'm going to wait for the Region 1 release, it's coming out eventually and when it does, it's mine. I'm one of those 'no region 1, no sale' kinda guys.

Just watched the second one and that scared the shit outta me like I haven't been in a long time. If I'm reading correctly there are TV versions that came out before the two theatrical versions. Are those available on DVD anywhere?

This one is listed as "ALL, NTSC".

Is this the one you got Tom & matome? If so... can you verify the R:ALL before I order?

Yes, that's the one I got, except the packaging I received had a slip case with a removable "holographic" plate on the cover depicting the kid and the schoolgirl, held on by little hand cutouts. It was all-region, though just note that the DTS option is only for the Thai dub and not the original Japanese track unfortunately. The Jap. track is DD5.1 so it's still very effective.

DVDasian rules. I ordered it on a Friday and had it on Monday.

Yes, I got the same one as matome.

It's a pretty cool cover but you gotta be careful with the finger cutouts when you're sliding the case back into the shelf.

Creature Corner announced the specs for the R1 release a few days ago for a release date of November 9th
Sam Raimi will sit in and do a commentary (he's a big fan of the film and producing the remake), there will also be interviews with the director and cast, behind-the-scenes stuff, outtakes, and an alternate ending.
I'm all over this one

Not trying to thread crap here but I didn't thing Ju-On: The Grudge was very good. It had potential and there are some very creepy parts to it but in the end it was too repetitive for my taste.

Ahhhh my friend, but what you did is the very definition of a threadcrap....

One commonly seen threadcrap is someone posting that "___________ is a crappy movie" in a thread dedicated to information about the movie's DVD release

Yes, there are 2 tv movies. The first 20 min of the 2nd movie is just a recap of the 1st film.

I don't believe that there are official releases out there with english subs.

It's the best horror movie I've seen in a theater in years.
