For anyone in the Boston area: you can find Ju-On at Newbury Comics. The version there is Region 0 and also includes the DTS soundtrack. PQ is pretty good and I believe it's only $19.99.

I first read about this film in an article in “Film Comment.” The writer points out that there are actually for Juon films: Juon, Juon 2, Juon: The Grudge and Juon: The Grudge 2. The first two were released for TV in 2000, the next two were done for the movies in 2002. From what I read they seem to be variations of the same storyline, not exactly remakes or sequels. From what the article continues to say they all seem worth viewing. What I would like to know: are all four films available somewhere? I was checking out Nichflix.com and the have Juon: The Grudge and Juon 2. Now, is Juon: The Grudge the 2002 version from the movies and Juon 2 the 2000 version from the TV? It can get confusing with the name variations.

Juon: The Grudge is a heck of a lot less confusing (well to me anyway) if you have seen the 1st tv movie. Since the film is Japanese I think that the director assumed that the (Japanese)audience would be familiar with the backstory from the tv films.

All the more reason to ask those in the know how and where us U.S. stuck people can see the TV movies from 2000. Domo!
