This is good news...I haven't seen this film in years.

Great Film. It will be great to see it in Wide Screen.

dick_grayson 07-19-04 09:20 AM

good stuff. I always used to get that plot confused with the Great Train Robbery, for some reason. Sean Connery, maybe.

John-In-VA 07-19-04 12:00 PM

Oh goody. That deserves a place right alongside Death on the Nile.

DVD Smurf 07-19-04 12:13 PM

Good news indeed...

I hope it's release is really true.

From DavisDVD:

Due on September 7th (oh, how I've come to dread that release date), look for the disc to include a newly remastered 1.85 anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Mono tracks, "Making Murder On The Orient Express" four-part documentary (All Aboard!, The Ride, The Passengers, The End Of The Line), "Agatha Christie: A Portrait" featurette and the theatrical trailer. Retail is super low $14.99.

My Poirot collection has really been missing this disc.

hleelily 07-20-04 06:33 PM

Who can give some comments about the video/audio quality of other Poirot dvds, like "Death on the Nile" and "Evil under the sun"? I may buy these two with "orient express" altogether.

JDF5244 07-20-04 06:38 PM

Evil Under the Sun and Death On the Nile are terrific. You should buy them immediately.

well, it looks like Martin Blythe and Paramount actually listened to the gang here.

he was here back in 2002 with a short list of film titles, soliciting feedback on where to allocate Paramounts limited resources for special features.
the overwhelming majority of people put MOTOE at the top.
(Foul Play was pretty high in the polling as well coming in 2nd or 3rd- it would be nice to see some features on that disc in Nov as well)

give yourself a pat on the back.

special features and a street price around $10...Paramount has come a loooooong way in those 2 years.

It can be preordered in Amazon

I didn't even know this was being released until the day it came out, when I saw it popping up on Ebay. $10 retail price is a steal for it, considering it's WS and has some really awesome special features.
