Greg the Bunny - DVDs are Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail!
Posted by David Lambert
7/15/2004

We've had reports from multiple retail sources that Greg The Bunny - The Complete Series is on-the-way for release in time for Christmas. All agree that this set contains every episode of the series, including two unaired episodes. The unaired pilot is also reportedly on this release for the short-run show that starred Seth Green, Eugene Levy, and of course Greg the Bunny himself (voiced by Creator/Exec Producer Dan Milano).

Taking the whole thing a step farther, we have word from readers like Blaine Dowler, which we've verified, that Diamond Previews (the preorder catalog from the comic book distribution company) has written it up as arriving in October for a list price of $26.98.

Bear in mind, please, that NONE of this has been verified by the studio. The official announcement is yet to come, but stay tuned and we'll get you authoritive info on this just as soon as we can!
At that price ($26.98) I would pick it up for sure.

Count Eye-ig-get-Blah. Damn!

Yeah, not the best show ever, but pretty much a guaranteed sale at that price for me.

Weren't there Greg the Bunny sketches prior to the TV show? Hopefully they will be included as extras.

Can't wait for this one.

they were a series of shows on IFC. More than could be added as 'extras'... rumor is that they will be out on DVD also.. just before IFC restarts the series!!! With the entire CAST (minus Sarah Silverman..)

Sorry to take this slightly off-topic, but can any of you guys point me to a link that mentions the re-start of the series? This is the first I've heard about it? Is this real, or just a rumour?

So, if what I read above is true, it will be the same set-up as the Fox show (the cast are on the kids' show Sweetknuckle Junction) but the only difference is it'll be without Allison (Sarah)? Even Eugene's on board? TARDY TURTLE, too??!!!

This would be SO cool, especially if it's its own dedicated half-hour show (and not mere 'filler' material).

Dan Milano mentioned it in a message on one of the (unfortunately) now-gone Fan Boards (and it was confirmed to be him).. the setup was to be that "Sweetknuckle Junction" was cancelled (hence no need for Sarah Silverman's 'network represntative) and the gang packs up and heads to New York [I think it was New York] for another show...

I'll see if I can find a definative link on that message...

Two incredible pieces of news! As much I loved this show, I can see why it didn't last. Just too weird. Thank DVD for giving niche titles new lives.

GTB on DVD

New GTB series

And I agree, it was simply too weird to survive on network TV.

Uncut, uncensored and unrelenting, Greg the Bunny stars Seth Green and Eugene Levy and is rude, crude, and stuffed with attitude. TV wasn't ready for him. Are you? The complete series on DVD includes two never aired episodes and much more. Puppets are people too!
Remember Greg the Bunny? It was a show that had high hopes, but only lasted 11 episodes, leaving 2 "in the can." Now Fox is releasing all 13 episodes on 2 DVDs on October 19th, with lots of extras for fans.
Disc 1
"Welcome to Sweet Knuckle Junction" Commentary by creator Dan Milano, production designer Jim Dultz, music supervisor Howard Paar, and property master Brad Elliot
"Sock Like Me" Commentary by Creator Dan Milano, Seth Green, Bob Gunton, Drew Massey, Victor Yerrid and James Murray
"Dottie Heat"
"SK-1.0"
"Piddler on the Roof" Commentary by creator Dan Milano, Seth Green, Sarah Silverman, Dina Waters, Drew Massey, Victor Yerrid and James Massey
"Rabbit Redux" Commentary by creator Dan Milano, director/editor Brent Carpenter, writer Bill Frieberger and James Murray
Featurette: The Humans Behind the Fabricated Americans (30:00)
Deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary by Dan Milano (18:00)
Featurette: Puppet Auditions (6:14)
Conceptual artwork (32 stills)
Easter Egg: Warren's Play - Dailies (2:00)
Disc 2
"Father and Son Reunion"
"Jimmy Drives Gil Crazy" Commentary by Greg the Bunny, Seth Green, Bob Gunton, Warren Demontaque, Tardie the Turtle, count Blah, Rochester Rabbit, Susan the Monster and more
"Greg Gets Puppish"
"Surprise"
"The Jewel heist"
"The Singing Mailman" Commentary by Greg the Bunny, Seth Green, Bob Gunton, Warren Demontaque, Tardie the Turtle, Count Blah, Rochester Rabbit, Susan the Monster and more
"Blah Bawls"
Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Dan Milano (2:40)
Director's storyboard - "Jimmy Drives Gil Crazy" (90 stills)
"Tardy Delivery" with optional commentary (approx 8 min)
Puppet porn (5 stills)
IFC Presents: Greg the Bunny Show (TBD)
Wrap Reel (6:25)
Behind the scenes stills (20 stills)
Publicity Gallery: Promos
Publicity Stills (40 stills)
Greg and Seth interview (8 min)
Easter Egg: (7:02) Dina Cracks Upm Greg Tries to Exit Doior, Cast and Puppeteers singing on set, Warren and Seth, Turkey Dance, Sarah Silverman does stand-up, Dog bites Rochester, Sarah walks by, Seth and Greg do Willy and Alf

Yowzers! That's a lot of material. Here are the specs on the set:
$26.98 US
2 discs, 13 episodes, 2 unaired
English Stereo
English and Spanish subtitles
Full frame (1.33:1)
October 19th
We'll have artwork when it's available.

Excellent news. I see Sarah Silverman doing stand up is one of the easter eggs.

DVDAnswers has the cover art:

I love the tagline: "TV wasn't ready for him. Are you?"

I never saw this show when it was on. Is it worth a blind buy?

Imagine, if you will, a world where the Muppets have lives like real people - lives, that is, full of alcoholism, prostitution, and mental retardation.

Did I mention I loved this show?

And I only saw a handful of episodes. Definitely not for the easily offended, but sort of like a "Death to Smoochy" that's funny and well-done.
