I think it's funny (and appropriate) that they called this Spider-Man 2.1 instead of 2.5 like they did with X-Men. It might even be more like Spider-Man 2.0001, but if it's 2 discs, hopefully there'll be enough new bonus material to make it worth buying.

Fincher Fan 01-25-07 10:33 PM

2.1 actually makes more sense than 2.5. That aside, I held off buying the current Spider-Man 2 DVD in anticipation of this, although it is a bit DOA. Instead I'll pick up the inevitable boxset that will be released when 3 hits DVD.

Any word on audio? DTS? Might stick with the Superbit until the Blu-ray release.

ceeece 02-01-07 10:44 AM

Is it really going to be called 2.1 or 2.5?

tonymontana313 02-01-07 01:55 PM

Yeah I think I'm going to stick with my original collector's gift set.

fumanstan 02-01-07 01:57 PM

Retarded name. I'll pass.

Patrick Mirza 02-02-07 10:35 AM

Spider-Man 2.1 lands in Region 1 on April 17th.

Hmm, 8 minutes of extra footage and sneak peak at 3, probably have to pass on the double dip.

Peep 02-02-07 12:53 PM

I'll upgrade when it come out on Blu-ray.

Peep 02-02-07 12:55 PM

Great cover though!!

canaryfarmer 02-02-07 01:00 PM

Nice cover, but this version's just not different enough to warrant a purchase.

Yes, clearly that was the sole reason I plan on passing on this release.

Simpson Purist 02-02-07 02:36 PM

Spider-Man 2.1? Sounds like a name for a software patch.

That cover art is badass though.

ceeece 02-02-07 03:29 PM

Are there going to be 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, etc. versions before Spiderman 3 comes out?

darmok 02-02-07 04:07 PM

WOW, spider-man 21?? never mind, it's 2.1 -ohbfrank-

I can see it now... Spider-Man 21, starring such tertiary villains like the Prowler, Rocket Racer, and Barry Nelson as the Green Goblin.

And might I add, kudos to the comic book geeks on this forum who actually know those characters.

Maybe Sony will throw in a free ticket for Spidey 3.

I highly doubt they would do that since S3 pretty much sells itself and it would make no sense to throw in a free ticket when you know the person buying S2.1 will pay for S3 anyways.

gotrice487 02-02-07 11:38 PM

I would consider buying this if it came with a free ticket to Spidey 3

SuperBatMan 02-03-07 12:54 AM

I'm kinda surprised there's not a Blu-Ray day&date release.
