We get the much demanded "What's Opera, Doc" and "One Froggy Evening" and a full disc of Road Runner / Wile E. Coyote, but no Foghorn, Pepe, Speedy, Marvin or Taz. Looks like there's a full disc of all minor characters this time, too.

Red Dog 06-19-04 06:10 PM

Lot more RR/Coyote on this one.

LorenzoL 06-19-04 06:40 PM

I'm dissapointed about not having any Speedy, Marvin or Taz episodes however this is a must buy when it comes out in the fall.

Hooray, WB

LorenzoL 06-19-04 06:43 PM

"Bear For Punishment" (Henry, Ma, & Junyer Bear - 1951)
Can't wait for this one along with What's Opera, Doc and One Froggy Evening

Now when are they releasing the Tom and Jerry set?

nemein 06-19-04 06:44 PM

TomOpus 06-19-04 06:53 PM

Yes

I wonder if they're going to put out another bare-bones 2-disc set as well as the Golden collection. Not that I would buy it (I woudn't), I'm just curious because if they just package discs 3 & 4 like last time, that makes for an odd assortment.

RockyMtnBri 06-19-04 07:43 PM

Two of my all-time faves are going to be on this set - Back Alley Oproar and The Hep Cat! If they'd've only put Hush My Mouse on this one it'd be a 100% hit instead of 99.99%!

chente 06-19-04 07:53 PM

Great news. Thanks.

From what I understand, the 2-disc set sold surprisingly poorly, and the 4-disc sold surprisingly well. I wouldn't be too surprised if they ditched the 2-disc set. Makes senese, since it's the bigtime fans that are going to buy this, and who's only going to buy half of it?

I loved those Looney Tunes. They are still funny to this day, and i'm not talking about cute funny, i really mean ha ha funny. I remember recently watching Robin Hood Daffy in the part when he tries to swing down on the person riding on the horse through the forest. He keeps hitting a tree, then continues to swing hitting a tree each time, each time saying '...and away!' only more withered and pathetic each time he hits the tree until looking all goofy with his teeth broken.

Slightly dissapointed that my alltime fave Looney Toons pic "Birth of a Notion" isn't included... but we can't have everything...

For some reason, it makes me think of aliens, inside-out cows, pink-eye..."My Bad."

thecrazydude 06-20-04 01:50 AM

Yes, I watched the South Park alien episode and I loved it, but the orginal cartoon is about a young owl that gets into trouble while he sings this song. His family tries to get him to sing a religious tune, but changed their minds at the end when he is winning a radio contest...

belosh 06-20-04 07:58 AM

What is the episode called with the dracula where bugs sings the whole abra-capocus/ pocus-cadabra thing, and is it on wither of the box sets?

this is one of the best bits ever in my opinion.

I can't recall exactly, but I think it may have been "Transylvania 6-5000"

I used to have it on the Looney Tunes - After Dark LD. I know the title is listed below.
I REALLY wish Warner would release this particular collection on DVD.

http://looney.toonzone.net/video/ltad.jpg
LOONEY TUNES: AFTER DARK: Ghoul, Ghost and Goblin Cartoon Classics

"Jumpin' Jupiter"
"Water, Water Every Hare"
"Bewitched Bunny"
"Hyde and Hare"
"Night of the Living Duck"
"Transylvania 6-5000"
"The Wearing of the Grin"
"Scaredy Cat"
"Broom-Stick Bunny"
"Hyde and Go Tweet"
"Hare-Way to the Stars"
"The Abominable Snow Rabbit"
"The Duxorcist"
"The Hasty Hare"

That is my favorite LT of all time. Have it saved (along with Rabbit Hood) on my ReplayTV from the Bugs vs Daffy CN marathon.

RockyMtnBri 06-20-04 09:45 AM

You know that Robin Hood Daffy and Rabbit Hood are both on The Adventures of Robin Hood DVD! "Yipes... and away!" always cracks me up!!!

Regurgitator 06-20-04 09:46 AM

I can't wait for this set! Definitely, will be buying it!

I would have loved it even more if they added in some Foghorn Leghorn and some Pepe the Pew clips. They should have added more Yosemite episodes with Bugs too.

Anyways, it's also a possibility that they could announce and release a set of Halloween clips similar to what Fox Home Entertainment with the release of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror DVD sometime around Halloween.
