We're hoping the release is actually anamorphic. In a worst case scenario, Universal may just be reissuing the old disc, which was labelled anamorphic but actually wasn't.

well, i don't think it would be labeled "Remastered" if something wasn't new on it. something has got to be different..what that is i wish someone knew...

I just got off the phone with Universal, and their director of publicity told me it is in fact a new digitally remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer.
