Any news on a new Resident Evil Edition?

Resident Evil 2 is coming out in September - so there's bound to be a new edition of the DVD in August (it's Columbia Tristar after all).

Has anybody heard any news about this new edition?

Will it be a new "unrated" cut?

Will the second audio commentary that is mentioned in the first one be on it?

Will all the extras from the German 2-DVD set be included?

Are you just overly excited about getting a new edition or do you have any actual news?

I don't think there's been any news of one coming out. Though we can hope.

I think it was your posting that got the ball rolling on Spiderman Deluxe and SB, so get cracking on this one

I've been patient for this. I hope they keep the commentary track from the original disc...that's one of the most unintentionally funny tracks in DVD history.

did i do that?

well, the spider-man was given... i mean it was a major blockbuster hit few summers ago, so, i'm not surprise if Sony will eventually double-dipping their asses into this title again... though i am quite surprise about the superbit edition....

now, regarding resident evil, isn't the 2nd one coming this summer? we should have some news by now....
i doubt Sony will release the "uncut" version... they probably added promo features for the sequel.... but one can only hope

oh, i'm not expecting superbit deluxe treatment either..... or DTS for that matter.... bastards

Better have the original commentary with such great quotes as "If you guys make this movie a big hit, and the DVD sells really well, I will get breast enhancement surgery!"

I really liked RE but if a new edition is released I don't think I will double dip until the price drops substantially.

They will likley port over the special featuires from the german 2 dvd version, like the white rabbit featurettes and other stuff, plenty of stuff to port over. and theres loads of new stuff too, they did new commantarties and there is new footage slightly more nasty too, but not loads really as they were never making a hard R film apparently, and the new ending which is on my German edition is not exactly great, different, but not great. It will be coming out but who knows, nobody yet!

But I will buy it again for the Maralyn Manson commentay, that would be funny!

Looks to me like another barebones re-release with a movie ticket

Well good. I recently pre-ordered mine from DDD. Was gonna just add it to my wish list but I decided what the hell since it's fairly cheap.

Well fortunately, I never picked up any of the other versions. So this one is perfect for me. And you think the original SE cover was better? Bah! I like this green one better. Kinda Matrix-y.

well I can certainly understand why you would pick this up if you never had the original release...

and the fact that its Matrix-y...is the reason I dont like it...
