I just picked this up at Walmart. It was $16 Canadian, so with the free ticket, it was well worth the purchase.

Well, if it has the same commentary on it, then I'll stick with the old one....if I ever buy it. The commentary was classic.

Featurettes: Five fairly short featurettes are included: "Making Of Resident Evil", "Scoring Resident Evil", "Costumes", "Set Design" and "Zombie Make-up Tests". A play-all option would have been nice, but these are still interesting pieces, especially the "Scoring" and "Set Design" ones.
I watched this stuff and it is good...and there IS a Play All option...did this dude even bother checking out the DVD? It sure doesnt sound like it...the other one by Ian is far better!

Reading through the thread I have seen a couple people say that they like/think is better the SB over the DE? Can someone explain? Why is the SB better? Better picture/sound? Does the SB have a DTS track? Just curious. I have the very first release I got used for $7, I like the movie so I will be upgrading my disc, but I do want the best one.

You need us to find out if the Superbit has dts? Um... okay...

Yes, it has dts, just like every other Superbit.

Aaron Beierle's review of the Superbit, where he compares it to the regular edition's picture and sound; I found this by doing a search.

I admit when I owned the special edition, I was impressed with the a/v and the dolby 5.1. I thought it was one of the better dvd presentations I had seen on just a special edition disc.

The superbit amps it up. The a/v is even crisper. Both dolby5.1, and dts 5.1 are incredible surround mixes are very atmospheric.

If you're like me and care about the best a/v and sound presentation the superbit is the way to go.

RE would have rocked MUCH more if they did 2 things:

- NOT killed off the black guy. There were at least 3 guys with short black hair and I couldn't tell who was who in the film. Variation helps, people.

- The music was NOT creepy. The games were all about creepy piano type music. Heavy metal and RAWWWWWWWWWWWWK is not scary. It's lame.

Milla ruled tho. =p

He goes into detail over the new extras, which are the only new things on the disc. The previous transfer and audio are the same. What more did you want from his review?

So out of all the extras is the only thing missing from the DE the music video?

Movie cash = Sale. I was hedging a little bit, unsure wether to pick it up or not (I personally thought it was a great film!). But considering I'm spending $7.50 this weekend to go see RE2, I'll drop another $5 and change to have the disc as well!

Just to clear up any rumors, this is not a two disc set.
