Dawn of the Dead Box set (1978 original) - 9/7
http://www.davisdvd.com/news/daily_news.html
Saw it at Davis DVD just now. No specs, but at least we have a date. |
might want to edit the thread title to make sure people know this is for the original movie and not the remake
I edited the subject, but the thread title didn't change. Hopefully "Box Set" is enough to distinguish between the 2.
I think only admins can change the thread titles once submitted. Thanks for the info anyway!
Nice news.
Don't worry about the thread title, as this is the version of the film that really matters, anyway. :D ;) |
w00t!
sweet :) glad there is finally a date now.
As far as what's in it DVDaf says:
127 Minute 'True' Theatrical Version 139 Minute Director's (Cannes Festival) Cut Zombi: Dawn of the Dead - 117 Minute Argento European Version And if that's true all I can say is w00t |
I'm in!!!
Hopefully it will not get delayed again.
Wow....139 mins... Ive never seen that version before...sweet.

Also of note on the DavisDVD site are Star Trek Generations CE, Godfather II and Godfather III, from Paramount, and from Universal "Dazed and Confused Flashback Edition" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High SE."

Fantastic news!
This is gonna be a great set! Cant wait to see the cover art.
I just hope that the Argento cut includes the Zombie musical score.
Dear Anchor Bay: I want a cd of the Goblin score, as with Argento's Opera and Suspiria LE sets! Thanks. :D
Several years ago, I bought an excellent Italian soundtrack CD of Zombi featuring the Goblin score plus bonus tracks. Not sure if its still in print, but its worth seeking out if no CD is included with the Anchor Bay set.
I too bought a Goblin CD compilation of their various movie scores. I don't remember where I got it though as it was a few years back.
wow, wow. sign me up!
Off topic....

man o man...this set is just gonna be so frickin incredible...this and SW within two weeks! OMG!
Good news!!!
I can't wait to hear the final specs... man 'o man, it'll be sweet.
Reliable sources from another forum indicate that only excerpts from Document of the Dead will be included, as opposed to the full film -- Synapse owns the rights to this and will be releasing it themselves sometime next year. Also the Argento cut is apparently a go.

Awesome!! Now that's a box set.
Very nice! It's great to see Romero's films being treated with the respect they deserve! Anchor Bay has dramatically improved since the departure of Bill Lustig.
I never thought that I'd be looking forward to triple-dipping on this title. :D |
HOLY SHIT INDEED!
Now that's going to be one sweet ass box set! |
I can't wait for this!!!!!!!
This is going to be freakin' awesome! |
That's really pretty much everything I could have hoped for and more. Holy shit, indeed.
