If anyones interested Panmedia has released the 3 Batman/Green Hornet episodes as a movie The Dragon vs The Bat, you can get it at hkflix for $9.95
http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm It ain't the whole series but it's something I guess |
I'm kind of surprised HKFlix stocks bootlegs from them.

I'm not sure that last part has any validity, but I hear it often. |

It seems just about everybody connected with the show, except the actors, own the rights to their contibutions. Producers didn't seem to have them sign work for hire contracts. |
Mattel/Hot Wheels just released a diecast of the 1966 Batmobile.

i thought i was gonna read in this thread that it was coming out. :(
from what i've been reading. it's a never gonna come out. |
I remember watching reruns of these episodes as a kid and really enjoyed them. Based on the number of fans on this thread and what I've come across on the internet there is certainly a market for a dvd release. Since this came out in the 1960's, where most adults were kids and big fans of the show, and now adults with jobs and money, I am surprised that Warner Brothers, Fox, DC etc. havent taken advantage of this. The window of opportunity is wide open now and who knows if that will be the case 10, 20 years from now...where people will only read about it in history books LOL.
RELEASE A DVD NOW!!!!!!!! I will shell out $30-$50 for the entire series!!!!!! It will make a nice stocking stuffer *hint hint* and a nice profit for Warners, Fox, DC etc. Damn hire a mediator to iron out all the legal stuff! |
Yet another pointless bump

i did. bought them on ebay for about $10. not great as they were the cut episodes crammed onto 7 discs but hey. its batman. i'm not likely to watch it again and again. just for nostalgia when i watched them in the early eighties. there are better sets out there like on 30 discs but i'm not paying much for a bootleg even if the quality is great.

One thing is for sure if it ever comes out on DVD I'm throwing the BIG BATMAN BASH where a viewing will be had and all participants will have to dress up either as Batman, Robin, the Riddler, the Joker, the Penquin, Bat Girl, Catwoman, Alfred etc to be allowed admission to the Big Batman Bash! LOL |

They were selling bootlegs of the complete series at Wizard World Chicago last month for $50, but bootlegs are illegal (I've never understood how they get sold at comic conventions and the like). |

Why is a thread like this still open? I guess it might deter someone from starting a new thread asking about a potential release, but as it is, I get false hopes every time I see this thread bumped.

One thing that puzzles me is that the series was shown in reruns, therefore someone(s) had syndication rights. I cant understand why it would be a major hurdle now? Maybe someone who knows broadcasting rights can shed some light on this-It couldnt be that difficult for all parties involved in the syndication of the show to partner up and make a deal.
|
it's on it's way??
From thedigitalbits Here's one quick little DVD news tidbit worth noting: We've heard from reliable sources that Adam West is now working on special features for the 1960s TV version of Batman. So it looks as if Fox and Warner may have finally made peace over the series' long-awaited DVD release. Fingers crossed. |
I've been waiting for YEARS for other DVDs where somebody said they were recording bonus features for a said DVD to come later. I will believe it when I see it in my hot little hands.
